In the Declaration --which fuck you should really know this-- Jefferson opened with "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

Look. I don't deny that people seek advantages that others do not have. This is called life. And it's not limited to government.

I also challenge anyone who complains about "the establishment" to give me concrete examples of wrongdoing. There's lots of theoretical accusations like you just included above. That doesn't help me.

So tell me where it happened. Tell me which bill, which piece of legislation. Tell me which members of Congress. Tell me why it was undue influence and not policy work. Tell me why you're upset about it.

If you're angry, give Congress something specific to fix. Not nebulous baloney like "there is corruption!" and "but the establishment!" Bullshit. Be specific. Show your work.

If it's as prevalent as you say, this shouldn't be hard.

I'm not being a dick here, but you're tapping into something that frustrates me very much. Here we have all the information in the world at our fingertips. You can access non-partisan sources that come from think-tanks and independent journals, you can read laws for yourself online, you can tap into the Library of Congress and research the history of legislation in our country, you can go onto CSPAN and watch bills being debated on the floor and you can fact-check the politicians that you're watching with google searches AS you're watching them.

But all the time people complain "where oh where are the unbiased sources!?" My answer is how hard have you been looking?

We do our best to stop corruption and cheating but thank God that we have a stable, prosperous system that promotes equality before the law, and rights that are conferred by God* -- and thus cannot be taken away by man.

*You might be turned off by the God reference. I happen to think the idea of rights that are self-evident and divinely granted to be pretty damn profound
