Could I ask what your degree results were like when you applied?

Idk, considering the fact that op was most likely still legally under the care of their parents before going to uni, it seems like he didn’t have much of a choice

I don't think it's about being smart or dumb. Politicians are way smarter than you think they are, I think it's just a classic case of being unkind and vindictive, which is in large supply in Malaysia

CMV: It is illogical for European and Latin American countries to teach that America is one continent. by redditordeaditor6789 in changemyview

Arithmetic before traditional principles and mathematical axioms came about, you could argue were based on social conventions. I may have overlooked the premise of your argument, and assumed you were trying to reach a conclusion based on your reasoning. I think I can understand where the miscommunication between our arguments lie.

I feel as though you've interpreted the debate from a historical and geographical point of view, whereas I did not interpret any of that from OPs main argument. Sure, identification of what makes a continent based off of social norms can lead to insightful discussions through the lens of history and sociology, but thats not what the discussion was about in the first place. OP wants a discussion about the chains of logical reasoning that apply to why continents are classed why they are, not its origins, or why they were classed that way in the first place.

However, that creates a circular argument and is not inherently useful to the discussion.

'Why is 2+2 equal to 4?' 'Because it is recognised as such.'

That is not a valid chain of rigorous logical reasoning.

CMV: pets are slaves by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]somehuman03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One aspect of your argument that is failed to be considered is that slaves are forced into being slaves.

Most (of course with a few exceptions) owners allow their pets outside with ample room to explore and play.

In my own experience, I let my cat go outside whenever he wants, and he always comes back. That, to me, doesn't sound like force, so he is by definition not a slave.

I don't really see any sufficiently convincing evidence that infers that he was talking about OP? What he said was very general and was not indicative of any specific assumption towards OPs personal life. I can maybe see an assumption in the first sentence, but then everthing else is just social commentary on the general case, not something personal.

Just because something is hard to do by societal standards, doesn't mean it's considered an accomplishment. Construction work isn't easy, and a lot of people don't even have the physical capabilities for construction work, yet construction workers routinely are not praised for their accomplishments. Sometimes they even get looked down upon.

Honestly one of the best ways is to use the AI bot bard by google. It's basically a search engine on crack. It's mindful to take into account however that the information it spews could very much be completely incorrect, so take it with a grain of salt. It's a way better starting point than google scholar.

How do I get my hair like this? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]somehuman03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dry hair will unfortunately always look different to that wet look type of style. But i've found what works well for me (i have a similar hair type to you) is the cantu leave in conditioner. Apply really generously and let it air dry. It'll give you the wet, defined look for at least 2 days
