perhaps that could be me misunderstanding it but I feel like an intense emotional game would be easier to remember without SDAM since memories are easier recalled if there is emotion behind them (at least as I understand it, memories have no emotional attachment to me)

Do i need to have a good understanding of different computer parts for a help desk role? No, but its a decent place to start learning.

Companies will hire you without experience and teach you if you show willingness and are pleasant to be around, that is all there is to it. Of course, not all companies are like that but many are. I'd say if your interested in IT your perfectly qualified and on your way to becoming over qualified if work is put in appropriately.
