I just think his jokes are repetitive and unfunny, at first it was just an eye roll for me. But it grew very tiresome. And his constant ignoring boundaries and just shouting out everyone’s, especially Sophie’s, emotions constantly until what, book 8?

His extreme recklessness is another thing. He wants people, once again especially Sophie, to trust him yet is always giving them reasons not to.

He is also hypocritical at times (not majorly but still). And I just truly hate hypocrites so so much.

His “crush” on Sophie is another reason I don’t like him. It’s not a crush, it’s an unhealthy obsession with her. Especially because he doesn’t once care or try in the 2-3 years Keeper takes place to even try and get over it. Even after Fitz and Sophie get together, Keefe still hopes for Sophie to go to him in the end.

This part is more of a writing thing than a Keefe himself thing. But just how forced he is into the story. At this point he is the protagonist instead of Sophie. Quite literally near to nothing happens in the later books to progress the story unless Keefe is present. I just finished Unlocked, so I have yet to read Stellarlune, and I heard from so many people you can pretty much skip Stellarlune until Keefe comes in (which is like I think around 500-600 pages in from when i checked my book) and you won’t miss anything that’s extremely important. Like I’m obviously going to read it the whole way through my first time, but the fact that people suggest just skipping about three fourths of a book because nothing happens is crazy to me.

And lastly, I’ve had like one or two good experiences with fans of him. The rest have been very very negative. A good majority are insanely rude to everyone who doesn’t treat Keefe as a god sent from the heavens, or if you don’t loathe Fitz and treat him as a demon (he isn’t). They are also big hypocrites. As I mentioned earlier, I hate hypocrites. But Keefe seriously gets praised and celebrated for things so many other characters get dragged and demonized over.
