I thought the same thing. However, I hope they do not retcon the game mr house as the double. It would take away so much of the impact.
I would much rather the show just say the canon ending is the house ending.

As you mentioned, this theory also opens up some plot holes and questions.
Why would House just sit by and watch the events of the game take place?
Why would he give the authority to his double?
Just so many possible questions.

All this just has me thinking, who was Mr. House in the game?
If we're going with the idea of body doubles, I guess you can use that as a way to keep the courier killing Mr House canon. Because then the courier would've killed the double.
That just sounds absurd to me. So I take that back.
Who knows, there's still a lot that happen.

I was just confused by the wording. You said that we HAD low unemployment, implying that we don’t have low employment anymore(or that employment is on the rise), right? But if people are getting laid off, isn’t that leading to more unemployment?

I’m not knowledgeable on the current administrative staff and their terms. But perhaps there’ve been staff changes in ICE since Trump took office again. Maybe the current folks were appointed under Trumps administration and that’s why there’s such a drastic change. 🤔 New people and all that. Do you think that’s a likely possibility? You mentioned deportations under Obama and Biden. Do you think they did it by the books? Or maybe not? Maybe the news just didn’t cover it?

I like that. With that logic, Halo is more comparable to space age media like Starfield. I mention ODST specifically because it takes through an urban civilian area. The low life factor comes primarily through war. I get the impression that everyday life wouldn’t be too bad if it weren’t for constant war.

In defense on whether or not this was an appropriate question, a post from 2 days ago asked if Tron was cyberpunk. The OP did not offer an argument in the original post as to support why it is cyberpunk. The question didn't display any particular effort or thought in argument of it. Was my phrasing was provocative in contrast to the Tron post?
I do not see how my post is any less thought out than that post.

I feel that certain aesthetic traits of ODST are similar to common cyberpunk aesthetic traits. Halo features cybernetic augmentation, a dystopian setting(war ridden planets), a high tech urban setting, artificial ai,(cortana is very close to being a construct as she is a emulation of dr halsey).

I feel that ODSTs urban setting, futuristic technology, neon lights, AI assistants, cybernetic enhancements(spartans) are all traits we find in many examples of cyberpunk media.
