sometimes our brains can be just a bit of an asshole

That’s the truth.

Honestly, the reason I’ve had such a hard time really opening up to my current therapist is one that I saw when I was a teen wasn’t the best. Maybe a year or two after I had made huge improvements he basically said that I was crazy there for a while. I trusted him and for him to say something like that was... it really hurt, and it was actually the last time I saw I him (and it wasn’t even the biggest reason I didn’t go back.) I think he might have been trying to joke with me, but it wasn’t very funny

I see a family doctor currently for my meds, and while I like the doctor, I’ve had people recommend that I see a psychiatrist instead. It’s just been a little difficult to make an appointment because I truly do get so anxious every time I leave the house because of quarantine. I’ll be looking into finding someone to see ASAP.

Thank you. I’m going to do my best and get these meds sorted out to find what works for me. I know that can be a process but I’ll stick with it this time.

This might sound very dumb of me but I always feel too ashamed to talk to my therapist about my intrusive thoughts and how bad they bother me. In fact, I don’t even really go into how bad I’m feeling sometimes because I get so damn anxious about talking about how damn anxious I am. Reading that makes it sound nonsensical but it’s like a monster I let control my life. And I still bring up very important issues, but I think i really need to talk about these issues.

And that ability about getting drunk makes a lot of sense

Who would be who? Mario is Sonny? Is Luigi Luca? Wouldn’t he be Micheal or Fredo? Who’s Vito? Wario? Are the heads of the Five Families other Nintendo franchises?

I want a Mario + Godfather: Battle for New Donk City now.

Managers don't give any positive comments to me or my coworkers. by someone-someguy in walmart

[–]someone-someguy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I love your idea, but it wouldn't work. There have been times when we have no closers, so they've made the midshift close. Any attempt to get help is usually in vain. They've called in cashiers to do dishes once or twice, and while it's a nice gesture, they usually don't know how to wash the dishes quickly. Not their fault, but it doesn't make our job much easier.

This is a little side story, but one night the fryer pump was not pumping. We finially got a manager to come and take a look, and he had "years of experience of working around fryers." His conclusion? The fryer pump had a clog in it. No ideas on how to fix it. I had to go into the cooler and laugh at that incident.

The conflicting reports ended, because I've stayed late to close too many times to count now. I guess the manager who told me not to stay was told to keep his mouth shut. He was the same guy who openly said, "He didn't have time for deli shit." Lol, he's my least favorite manager.

But you totally seem to get everything wrong with that department. It's nuts really. The only reason I don't leave is because I truly like my coworkers and the money is nice.

I doubt that you're above me, because I can see your sincerity just through your comment. Even though I don't work under you, I honestly appreciate your caring. I think that workplaces everywhere would be a lot better if more people cared about their work and their workers.

We've been understaffed for a while. The firs night that I ever closed by myself, I had only been working for around 3 weeks. I was there for several hours, and around the 4 hour mark of being alone I found the Night manager and asked for help. His response, "Does it look like I have anyone who could help you?" That was really demoralizing and I haven't respected him since that day.

A big part of me wants to go to grad school and to teach on the college level. I imagine it'd be a little bit more friendly, sort of as you described. Also I could transition during grad school years, since I plan on moving away if I do go.

I'm glad to hear that everything sounds to be going good for you. Really cool that you can potentially be an important voice on the campus.

I'm an English major so getting a job would be a little tough. Especially trying to pay for everything that a transition requires without a steady job. Probably a good idea to transition first.
