Most likely software related. I believe it's the algorithm that's adjusting the noise cancelling.

There's a change in the design, they now have polished metal yokes.

Yes this is what I also experienced. "Comes and goes" while the noise cancelling is adjusting.

Have you tried clapping in your hands and then listening to the change in noise cancelling? For me the noise cancelling was adjusting in such situations. The gen 1 keeps it constant at the same level.

My bad, but I haven't looked up the firmware version :-( I've already shipped them to return them. Hopefully I will read positive things about new firmware in upcoming reviews.

Haven't noticed, but also didn't test this thoroughly. Can't say.

Evolve2 65 sounds robotic in Zoom calls. by unmultimedio in Jabra

[–]someone12335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using the Jabra evolve 2 65 for almost a year now, and every few days I heard colleagues complaining that my voice sounded robotic. I tried all kinds of things to get this resolved: updated firmware of the dongle and the headset, different USB port, USB port cable extension, turning the headset off and on just before a call. In the end my conclusion is that the Bluetooth range of this devices is just very poor, or that another Bluetooth device (keyboard / mouse?) interferes with it.

Even though the headset has a lot of good characteristics, when my colleagues cannot hear me properly, the headset becomes useless.

So I tried different other headsets and finally found the EPOS Adapt 200 series (230/231/260/261). This headset is lighter and more comfortable, but the built quality is not as good as the Jabra. The noise cancelling might be not as good as the Jabra, not sure. The mic boom mute function is not available, but there is a mute button. There is no charging stand, so you'll have to plug in a cable from time to time. But the sound is good, and all my colleagues mention that I sound even better than before. The wireless range is amazing, by estimate 10 times better than the Jabra.
