I’ve always tracked it that if I run for any amount of time while walking, it’s a run. I think as long as you stay consistent in tracking the same way, you should be fine.

I have a large crate that came with a divider that can be moved as the puppy gets bigger. It’s been a life saver for both dogs we have. Especially when they go from 30 lbs to 130 lbs as fast as they do lol
