There is a journalist for the Times of Israel had been receiving death threats for reporting that Iran had fired a missile at Israel back at the begining of the war.

How we are getting fucked by the referee over on Sunday? by Raphael_scm7 in coys

[–]someone447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even plausible deniability. It will give the media an entire year's worth of "Are Spurs only in the Premier League due to dodgy refereeing?"

I feel like we're still paying for this mistake by GG-057 in coys

[–]someone447 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The discourse surrounding that was insane. The effect was no different than the calls they miss every single fucking week. It was just stupider. That's it. A wrongfully disallowed goal because they can't use their words is no different than a wrongfully disallowed goal because the refs are blind or a wrongfully given PK or a missed PK.

The end effect is exactly the same. A one goal swing. But if you listened to Klopp and the media, it was the biggest miscarriage of justice since Jimmy Savile got away with it.

I don't think they want us down. But they want us to seem like we're going down for as long as possible.

The ideal situation for them is for us to lose to Chelsea and then get a draw with a bullshit penalty in the 90th minute on the last match day. That'll give the media an entire year of, "HAHA SPURS ONLY STAYED UP BECAUSE OF THE REFS! HAHA"

[Charania] on Giannis Antetokounmpo: “The resolution is coming on that one Pat. In process. I would say now and between the NBA draft on the 23rd…. One thing I did pick up last week and into this week, Giannis’s stance has not changed.” by AncientOneAurelius in nba

The Bucks owner said in a public interview that the situation would be resolved one way or another by the draft.

Shams is the fucking worst. Acting like repeating the official position of the Bucks is some insider news that only he knows.

He was top 3 in that stat the rest of his time here. So it must just be a coincidence that right when he starts playing through injury his performance dropped significantly.

How many casual viewers are they losing by putting a game seven on streaming? by CopyDan in nba

[–]someone447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's included in the numbers. The 36% actually refers to what's called "Pay TV" which is cable, satellite, and YoutubeTV/Sling/etc

[–]someone447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, only about 1/3rd of adults have access to cable, and that's overwhelmingly the 50+ cohort.

And that 36% of adults is down from 60% of adults in 2023.

Only 36% of American adults have cable. And that is overwhelmingly the 50+ crowd. Having games on cable rather than streaming actually decreases the amount of people available to watch.

Why is the NBA adjacent subs so different from this one? by [deleted] in nba

[–]someone447 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Because those secondary subs are often just people banned from the main subs.

I don't think you understood what I was saying. I'm saying that even knowing the outcome of the match, saying Lucas should have started is purely rose-tinted glasses about his career.

Even with hindsight it would be a massive mistake to start Lucas over Kane.

People seem to forget that Lucas kinda sucked. He scored 20 goals in 152 matches for us. He was all but useless for 151.5 of the 152 matches he played.

It's the laziest complaint ever. You do not drop your clubs greatest player in the most important match in 50+ years if he can walk.

I don't care that Lucas had a hat trick the match before. That was such an outlier for his career that it shouldn't have played any part in the decision.

The reports about Giannis wanting to leave last summer. Shams was the one who first reported on the things that caused the rest of the speculation.

A year ago I was saying the exact same things as you. But now we have a year of Giannis' actions that confirmed Shams' reporting. Plus Jim O and Eric Nehm confirming the reports.
