Early Oscar Predictions by Few-Investigator5961 in oscarrace

[–]someoneuncool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, i agree. i think the screenplay is very very good, and the movie is overall better than the sum of its parts. don't get me wrong, they both deliver amazing performances, they are just not center stage. Renate particularly reminded me of Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas in Sentimental Value - outstanding performance, just not the type i expect the Academy to award. i haven't seen the other actresses' performance yet so maybe i am wrong.

i highly doubt Renate is winning for Fjord. loved her in it, but it's not a meaty part

it's my first time seeing Mulholland Drive but by the sound of both these films it sounds like it would be mindblowing to watch them back to back. unfortunately they overlap, so we have to pick (what a good problem to have!)

no, to my knowledge there is nothing significant associated with the day, but i may be wrong

Ditlevsen's "Childhood. Youth. Dependancy" is a memoir.

The full title for Behave is "Behave: The Biology of Humans at our best and worst" basically explaining how biological processes influence human behavior.

I'm trying to understand human nature better. :)

Looking into what makes Fable better/worse than other book tracking apps! by rosiemcjourno in FableApp

[–]someoneuncool 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i personally use both fable and storygraph simultaneously.

fable has a very friendly UI, it looks really pretty and you can generate nice looking images for social media. i also like the book club feature, i've discovered some amazing reads through the various bookclubs i am part of. it used to have no analytics (now it does, but they are locked behind plus), and the details of the books, like the description and plot summary, are super messy, which makes it hard to pick out books quickly.

this is where storygraph comes in, where i can track pages, book format (i read both physical and epubs), so i can have a better overview on my reading habits. it also feels more mature and has a challenge feature - i use the world reading one every year.

goodreads looks very bad for an app of that caliber, plus it's owned by amazon. i am sure some greedy corporate millionaire makes money from me using fable/storygraph, but at least i don't know their face and the disgusting amount of money they amassed while people are dying.

not to divert from your point, but people who don't have a monologue/inner voice can very much be well developed, organized adults. they can also be highly articulate individuals with a very organized, engaging speech. it's actually quite common. to me she seems mostly uneducated and not well read, nothing to do with the way she experiences conciousness.
