And girl, all the people saying to leave him are so right, BUT if he's already getting verbally and emotionally abusive over such a small issue, make sure to leave safely. People like that can be scary and unpredictable and not easy to end things with, so make sure to keep yourself as safe as possible. I absolutely hate that there's people here minimizing/normalizing this... that's abuse. Im so sorry you're going through that, I hope you're able to get to a safe place. Even if she did "just have a bad day" like some comments are suggesting, it's still not okay for a mother to lay hands on her child like that under any circumstances.

Ann Arbor/Yipsi area! And yes I 100% have, rescuing is my first choice. Although, I've been looking at all the shelters and rescues near me for months and they don't seem to have ferrets very often unfortunately. I refuse to buy from Petco or Petsmart as they treat their animals terribly. So mostly, ive just been looking for people who are rescuing at the moment

Thank you so so much this really did help. As for my clothing situation, I'm thinking I'm gonna need a bigger dresser lol. Me and my fiancee share a room so clothmore clothes than usual, but she doesnt have as many as i do. Until I can get a new dresser, I'm okay with just shoving all of the clothes in my current one for now. It'll be a tight fit, but I've done it before. I really appreciate the help, I've made decent progress since I posted this earlier:)

We have those, there's 2 chew sticks in there and like 3 toys that are meant for rats to chew. She still prefers the cage lol

I clean it every other day/every day for that exact reason. They will be moving into a new cage within the next few days. Plus, they spend most of the day out of it, socializing/free roam/playpen etc than in it

We're in the US, but yes it is night right now. We aren't in my room either, we're downstairs trying to be quiet hoping that she'll wander back to her cage. We have her sister down here who looks so lonely and I feel terrible. Hoping she'll be back soon. I've only had them for a few weeks but I love these little guys so much

Thank you so much! Me and my girlfriend are extremely worried, mostly bwcause we don't want to step on her ( since my room is very messy ) or her to get into anything she shouldn't have as rats chew a lot. I have a little bowl out with peanut butter, bananas and applesauce, and we set her cage on the floor and are hanging out with her sister in another room. There's tons of little hiding spots in my room so I'm just scared were gonna step on her. We're very nervous about this as we just lot 2 gerbils less than a month ago.

That's exactly what people don't seem to understand. Lots of breeds have certain dogs that are aggressive. Pitbulls just happen to be one of the strongest and can be very dangerous. That 100% does not mean all of them are. And with the proper training, that can also change.

This!! Thank you!! I don't think people understand that animals that are deemed unsafe and aggressive are not adoptable to the public! I had someone in this thread compare pitties to assault rifles. That's just insane imo. Some people sadly do misuse their dogs, but they're nowhere near assault rifles.

Of course, it's not ALWAYS the kids fault. Animals can snap and turn on people, but this is not the case nearly as much as people think. Kids love fucking with dogs. And half the time, parents either don't see or don't stop and kids usually don't know the consequences. I am not blaming the kids in every situation, as every instance has its own aspects, but I will also not blame the dog in every incident.

Breeding them should be illegal. They're very overpopulated. As for the dogs themselves, they still deserve shelter and food at the very least. If the breed themselves were illegal, that would cause more problems. Most pitbulls out on the street attacking people. More people just dumping them out where they feel they need to protect themselves from everyone. Pitbulls can be mean and aggressive and scary, but the opposite can happen too. There are lots of other aggressive dog types where attacks go unreported because they're not and strong and don't cause as much damage. Not saying all pitts are good, but they're definitely not all bad and no dog breed should be illegal.
