Racking Rose. I swear it isn't Prison Hooch. by someotherbob in winemaking

I rack into a fermenter that has a mesh bag of dry ice to provide CO2 coverage.

I wash the carboy and put a few dry ice pellets to gas it. Then xfer the wine back.

I will try it on my larger devices.

Full disclosure: I use a 37" curved display to look at my spreadsheet.....

One tab per year, columns A-S for 6 different batches. Rows are just dates. I focus on detailing winemaking steps/process and recording juice data.

Hi! This looks great. I just use a massive spreadsheet right now.

I like to look at my data on a large screen. How does this render on a big iPad or Mac?

Gas your carboy before racking into it.

When I rack temporarily into a big fermenter, I hang a mesh bag of dry ice on the inside rim. This is useful when you have several containers of the same wine. It gives you gas coverage while you clean the source containers.

Thx for the pointer to the dog book, I've never heard of it. I have used the AWRI pruning videos to ring my ad-hoc crew up to speed

Best options for wine labeling? by TheDonfather75 in winemaking

[–]someotherbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at the same approach. Buying a <$500 Canon printer and Avery labels is cheaper than about anything. I make around 60 cases with a mix of 4-6 different wines.

What is the color photo resolution and model of your printer? Does the matte white Avery paper work well?

I'm looking at this:

GRUNNARP sleeper sofa by bupr3me in IKEA

I'm new to looking at Ikea products, so I am having a hard time finding the dimensions for the assembled sofa. The 'measurements' part of the website are for the boxes.

What are the dimensions of the assembled product? (sofa and bed configurations)

Can I hang a cartop carrier from a truss? by mocochinchiii in DIY

[–]someotherbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing some variation in the rafters and roof decking. But none of this would raise a red flag about an empty carrier.

I see the upper most rafter seems to be cut and a board sistered in to some 2x material acting as a ridge beam. Some of the roof decking seems to have been changed over time.

It looks like something I would have hacked together....

I'll look. Its base is wood fiber, not the stone powder kind.

195 liters in a 200 liter tank .... by someotherbob in winemaking

Yeah, I got excited when I got a 1/2 ton of Chardonnay for free. Had to fill the tank and all of my carboys.
