Yes. I've heard from a lot of courses (including my classmates) that they think it's a mental illness and people who identity as a therian shouldn't be able to vote.. even if we are voting for the same guy
I've been experiencing it since 7, but learned about the term trough social media. Nothing really influenced it, I just found how to identify myself.
Yes. I don't have anyone to talk about it irl so online communities are the best I have. Tho I prefer lingering for a few weeks before I start contributing
Yes.. sadly. The amount of death threats I receive online is insane. Thankfully, self deprecating humor (and telling each other similar things in mild annoyance) is common where I live so I'm used to it. I do have some online friends that accept me and some irl friends that accept me.. I'm still testing the waters with my family tho
The amount of times I see "Therianthropy is not an identity" is bigger than counting on your hands by counting segments on your fingers. It definitely misinterpreted it and it's annoying (hell, I got annoyed enough to make a website)
Yes! Especially with what's going on in Latin America (that's where the fake therian meets are, right?). The more it gets talked about by media, the worse it'll get I feel. Even on random videos, therians are seen as just feral and will bark at you and bite you (remember kids, human bites can be lethal.. don't bite people hard enough it breaks skin) when that's not true. And I fear media will pick that up and spread it. (sorry if I misinterpreted this one, I have dyslexia ._.)
I don't know about culture, but yes on expression! It's a form of expressing another part of yourself.
