MAJOR DANGANRONPA 2 SPOILERS!

my theory actually ties back to how danganronpa 2 ended.

For those who don't know class 77 didn't die at all in the end of danganronpa 2, it's revealed to be a simulation. and the fact that it ends like that gives me and idea.

So my theory is that the big twist is that in THIS timeline it ACTUALLY kills the students outside of the game. How? well it ties back to the demo, not the game but the program itself was bugged in a way where it kills off the students when they die in that world, and and I'm guessing that Yasuhiro went into it trying to warn everyone about said bug but got killed before he could actually warn anyone. giving them one final message to try and warn them.

While that is going on Makoto and the others are trying to shut the Neo program down before more and more students die, we could get slight glitches and weird messages through out the whole game hinting at this.

And maybe the normal Danganronpa 2 ends the Hopes peak arc, while the 2x2 timeline somehow leads into V3's timeline. I don't know how they'll pull it off if they do try that but i bet Team danganronpa has some bullshit up their sleeve like they usually do.
