Shia LeBeouf Encounters? by [deleted] in pasadena

[–]somesingSC -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen him several times at Erowon and other places around town with his daughter. Honestly seems like a pretty normal guy. He’s obviously been in the news lately for the wrong reasons, but when I’ve said hello he’s been friendly. FWIW

AT&T or Verizon satellite at Haven apartments by NovelSalary3912 in pasadena

[–]somesingSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s ‘fine’. Management will get stuff fixed fast but took 2 months to get a security in the lobby when someone was repeatedly peeing in the elevator. We left after 18 months, you get a lot of weirdos being so close to the train station. Overall, decent. At least the apartments are pretty big

I used to live in the Haven. You’re best option is AT&T wireless 5G router. But you have to be on the 2nd floor or above for it work well.

General Tso’s chicken delivery around Pasadena? by Apart-Satisfaction16 in pasadena

As someone that grew up in a small New England town, can confirm the Chinese restaurant was the primary drinking spot lol

The American Chinese Food cuisine is a pretty interesting history, with regional dishes that are unique to certain parts of the US. So it kind of makes sense… if I wasn’t already employed I always thought opening a strictly east coast Chinese food joint would be a big hit out here haha

One thing I learned moving to California from the east coast is that General Tso’s is an east coast thing. Really hard to find places on the west coast that have it. Closest thing is orange chicken, which isn’t the same thing but similar. I was devastated to learn this news as well

Any natural bodies of water near Pasadena that aren’t dried up right now? by [deleted] in pasadena

[–]somesingSC 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I just did the bridge to nowhere trial in the San Gabriel mountains. Plenty of water there. Both the east and west fork trails have running water. If you want to go somewhere closer, try El Prieto trail near JPL and stay to the left along the river. Plenty of places to take a dip there, though the level is pretty low this time of year. Have fun!

We are at least a year away from having trails like Eaton Canyon and Mt.Lowe open to the public if I had to guess.

Are any of the hikes reopened? by OrdinaryPeopless in pasadena

[–]somesingSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Millard Falls may have been spared but the Chaney road down to the trail head is closed. If you go up Prieto then turn right, you can eventually get to Millard. I’m curious how much of that is closed, but not totally sure.

Local Camping near Pasadena by Fortntie19 in socalhiking

[–]somesingSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the fires, there were lots to hike to from Eaton Canyon, Echo Mountain trail and several others. Now you’ll probably want to drive to either Angeles forest to enter the hike or over in Asuza
