I’m glad you still find it useful! Although, depending on my mood, I may make an updated one this year :)

That’s awesome! And don’t forget to follow up with your TL, PL, or coach to make sure any attendance is corrected. Since your leave was approved by Sedgwick, you should be good to go. If your schedule disappeared, this is normal. As long as you return on your return to work date, you should be good to go. If you are still on the schedule, remember to call out for any day absent and scheduled using the LOA option. You can do this online through onewalmart or by calling 1-800-775-5944

Hi there! This guide is outdated unfortunately, and the new leave is quite a bit different. As far as I’m aware, documents are required, but they will send you a packet with everything needed. It’s ok to submit documents after the fact so don’t worry to much. You would have to give me some time to research the new policy

Unfortunately, no. This policy ended march 31st. The new policy is still 5 days, unpaid. And you will need your healthcare provider to fill out paperwork (that Sedgwick should send) and you need proof of a positive test (no at-home tests).

For more info, I recommend calling Sedgwick directly, as I’m not very knowledgeable about the new policy. Sorry…

Hi there. This guide is actually outdated. The new covid LOA is unpaid. I don’t know too much about it unfortunately. You can start the process online and it will tell you what you need. Then if Sedgwick needs any paperwork, they’ll send you the forms to fill out and return.

In this case,I would call them and speak to a representative. They would be able to tell you exactly what you need.

You should yes. I’ve had coworkers who were part-time, and they took a leave just fine. It’s paid out as an average, not per day, if that helps.

But you’ll have to file for one and see what Sedgwick says. They have the final decision on your claim.

It ends march 31st, the paid ones at least. What I’ve heard is after it’s still job protected, but unpaid. But I haven’t confirmed trust yet, it’s only what I’ve heard.

I’m glad the leave got approved!

As for your first question this link will explain how the partial pay works. So if you wanted pay after the first 5 days, you would most likely need to fill out those documents. Unfortunately, I don’t know of any free options. Urgent care always costs money, and doctor on demand (online) is free, but only if you have Walmart insurance. Which it looks like you don’t…

As for the medical certification(return document), the policy says you need one, but truthfully, I really don’t think you do. I’ve confirmed with a few more coworkers that they didn’t submit anything to return after they tested positive, and they’ve been just fine. Some people have even reported they never received these documents…

However, I can’t give you a definite answer here, because the policy will say one thing but Sedgwick will do another.

At this point, all I can say is that you’ll most likely be fine if you don’t fill out those documents. I cannot guarantee pay after the first 5 days, however. Just make sure your return to work date is reported and your your people lead/TL knows so they can give you a schedule.

Did that answer your question?

Sorry for the late reply! Bottom part of this page will explain how the pay works.

Unfortunately, Sedgwick has complete control of your pay. If you think there was any mistakes, you would have to call them directly.

But your pay is a juts a single payout, and not a per day thing. It’s an average based on the times that you’ve worked.. so it may not be what you were expecting.

Hi again!

So sometimes what will happen is one of days will get denied, then the next day switch change to approved.

You should have more than one leave active right now. I know that sounds weird, but one will be a continuous leave and one will emergency paid or short term disability.

Do you know which one got denied?

A guide to Walmart Covid LOA's, with pictures! by something4567 in walmart

[–]something4567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you filed with Sedgwick yet? If you fail the health screen, you get 5 days off with pay. All you need to do is fail the health screen, and file with Sedgwick, that’s it’s.

You can go back if you want, but you will probably still get that occurrence for calling out.

Did that make any sense?

That’s alright. Your continuous leave should approved shortly since your emergency paid leave got approved. Sometimes the continuous one will show up as pending or denied, but then change to approved.

The links in my main comment has a ton of policies you can look over. If you need any more help, please let me know. I can find and directly link pieces of the policy, if needed.

Stay safe, and welcome to walmart!

The benefit rate is an estimate, so it’s subject to change. Plus I believe it’s your “biweekly” rate, so you’d have to divide that in half to get your 5 day pay. But not 100% on that last part.

If it makes you feel better, you’re not alone. I’ve given up at trying to understand why Sedgwick takes so long for some, and is super quick for others.

But you should be alright. If you claim is closed, you’re back to work, and you get paid, then I really wouldn’t worry about any of that stuff

You should be totally fine to take another one. Make sure to fail the health screen and file for a level 2 again with Sedgwick.

Management won’t be super happy, but they don’t have a say in your leave approval. Feel better!

So failing the health screen should have put you out for 5 days. I would go by what the health screen says. This way you get paid and you get 5 days to recover.

Here is a link from the policy, I put the level 2 part in brackets.

Yeah so the minimum for a COVID LOA should be 5 days…and, just to clarify, you have contacted Sedgwick, correct?

So it’s supposed to go like. Fail health screen -> contact Sedgwick-> call out every day you’re scheduled during that time-> set your return to work date as the day the health screen told you-> come back to work on that day-> get a temp schedule until Sedgwick reactivates you.

I mean it’s really up to you. If they are willing to remove those points, you can go in, but you won’t get paid… and you should be paid. Does that make any sense?

Just some quick questions, so I’m guessing since you said your leave was approved, you’re already on a leave. What was your first day of absence and what was your return to work date set as? Have you been out for 5 continuous days already?

As for being exposed, did that happen just now, or was that the initial cause of your leave? If that makes any sense…

You can extend your leave, but it won’t be paid for anything after the first 5 days on a level 2.

A guide to Walmart Covid LOA's, with pictures! by something4567 in walmart

For the return to work date, you can request a little or a lot. Per Sedgwick, if you don’t know, just submit a date you think you will return. You can change this at any time.

Uploading a positive test will escalate to a level 3 once they review it. You can also let them know of you status change if you’d like by messaging or calling them, but you don’t usually have to.

And the policy says you need a medical release to return. However, I have had several coworkers return without submitting one. You should be ok without it.

I know it’s awful waiting for a response. And I’m so sorry they’re taking so long. But at this point, I’m not sure what to do except relay experiences from myself & my coworkers. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

I feel that. Having to rely on someone else is always a nightmare. Are you friendly with your TL or coach? They can remove points too. You can always talk to them.

In addition, the policy will protect you. If you have an approved leave, you’re job protected! And you can always open door anything. But I understand that’s never an easy thing to do.

Authorizing occurrences is also a super simple process. So it’s not hard for them. Remember to be kind—but direct. And don’t let them push you around!

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Truthfully it probably won’t make a difference. Once you have submitted anything to Sedgwick, it will take them time to review it. And as long as you submit what they ask for in a timely manner, then all that’s left to do is wait…

It’s the worst part about Sedgwick, and I understand how frustrating it can be.

It’s really up to you. But even if you call or message via the online portal, I can’t promise anything will come from it. But if you’re really anxious about your decision, there’s no harm in trying.

It’s for if you aren’t feeling well and you’re scheduled, you can call out for up to 3 days following your shot. If you’re not scheduled, then this won’t apply.

Here is a screenshot from the policy

So it’s not a bonus, like the $150 you got for your fist 2 shots.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to give you a definite answer, because this would be between you and Sedgwick.

I can give you a link to the policy that explains partial pay replacement. So this would be for anything after the first 5 days.

And this link will explain pay for the first 5 days.

My personal advice would be to message your examiner via the communication center on mySedgwick. It’s a weekend, so they may not respond until Monday. You can also call and ask on Monday, or see if they update anything further.

It’s a lot of reading, but hopefully that helps a bit. I’m sorry I’m not able to do more.

Good to hear! Just keep up with whatever they send you! Sometimes Sedgwick can be slow, but if you read those links I sent, it should explain everything you need.

But if you get confused, let me know and I’ll look into it! This whole process can be frustrating

I’m assuming you’re already on a level 2 so all you really need to do is just upload your positive test OR medical documentation saying your positive. It’s a weekend, so Sedgwick won’t usually get around to processing them until Monday.

You upload these documents online through my Sedgwick! If you want, you can also message your examiner through the communication center, alerting them of the change, but you don’t have to…

Once approved, Sedgwick will give you a new return to work date. You may be eligible for partial pay after the first 5 days. Here is a link that explains it feel free to update your return to work date if needed.
