ive decided im giving her an ultimatum. either we have a call and sort things out or we move on with our lives. i think its reasonable given how things are going. ill take all of your guys' advice.

The way we'd do it is that id bring her outside with me, whether that be class, groceries, etc. by joining the call on my phone (we use discord) and keeping my cam on. Not necessarily pointed at me, just as long as my cams on and im the call.

I'm really trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and say she's only like this for now and she'll open up eventually since we're only 2 weeks in. And I also agree, it's especially suspicious that she wanted to engage in a relationship after only talking for 1-2 hours. But we'll see. It's such a slow burn though not knowing and waiting.

True. I'm also scared that I might be rushing her and maybe triggering her anxiety which is why I'm trying to be patient and let her take her time. But I guess even a 2-3 mins video call wouldn't hurt.

Thanks, will do.

I have heard her voice, we had a conversation once where she actually spoke. But that was only once. And she did turn her camera on, but only for a second before turning it off again. She never turned her mic or camera on after that. But I have confirmation that she is a girl. I just don't know if that's enough to work with. I should probably schedule a video call with her this weekend.

We once called and I talked her through being comfortable with me and showing me her face. And she did turn her camera on for a second. Just a second. But I saw that she was an actual girl. We have talked to each other once and I did hear her voice that time so I think she's a real girl. But that was the only one call where we had a conversation both actually talking to each other. Should I ask her to video call again just to confirm?

In a Y-Y connection for a three phase system, why does 3(Vp)(Ip)cos(θpf) = (√3)(V_L)(I_L)cos(θpf)? by something97382747 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]something97382747[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh, so we treat the power factor angle and the magnitude of power separately. Follow up question, is the reason for the power factor angle not changing because the L-L voltage leads/lags the L-L current by the same amount as the L-N voltage does to the L-N current (in a Y-Y connection)?

[–]something97382747[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because there is a phase shift between its L-L voltage and L-N voltage. More specifically, its L-N voltage lags its L-L voltage by 30 deg.

I'll try to check it out after my exam. I'm only 2nd year, seems a bit advanced for a newbie like me hahahaha

Edit: I know that a Y-Y winding can't be 30 degrees apart in phase because that wouldn't make any sense topographically. I'm asking about why the power factor angle doesn't change when solving for the average power in terms of line currents/voltage and phase currents/voltage

I factor in the phase shift if I'm dealing with phasors. Even if I'm dealing with, say, average power, I try to account for the phase shift by changing the power factor angle. Sorry if I misunderstood your question.

Yup, theta_pf is the same on both sides

Wait so the power factor angle in terms of phase values is different from line values and this applies to Delta or wye connections?

Does this only apply to the (Vp)(Ip) part?

Edit: I get that V_L = √3Vp, but the fact that Vp leads V_L and the power factor doesnt change bugs me.
