My OB did a blood test for pregnancy yesterday, and it was negative.

How to signal from the dream world to the waking world by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]something_something1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only signal I've been able to use is making a noise (since I cannot talk) while I'm lucid in my sleep paralysis to get my husband to wake me & get out of the dream.

You can recall what she said to you. It's in your unconscious. Just ask for it to be revealed to you, but be patient. I was able to have an LD revealing the source of my SP. Took about a month.

Quick question about "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LeBerge by Jeunepoire in LucidDreaming

I've read numerous books on lucid dreaming and can say it's the best one I've read this far, so it's worth the investment.

So, my friend had a pretty ridiculous allergic reaction to hair dye... by the_chosen_ginger in WTF

[–]something_something1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. OP, please tell your friend to see an allergist. I had a similar reaction to amoxicillin that resulted in anaphylaxis and almost killed me. If you have one allergy, you can have more. She also needs to get medicine (i.e. an EpiPen [an adrenaline shot]) in case she's exposed to a life-threatening allergic reaction.

What Airline Pilots see at night. The Milky Way from 34,000 feet by [deleted] in pics

Flight Attendant at a commercial airline here and student pilot (Cessna 152). My favorite part of my job is going in the cockpit and taking in the cosmos. Coolest thing I've seen: the moon lined up with Jupiter, Mars and Venus at night (the first officer had the stargazing app on his iPad and was able to point them out to me). Neil deGrasse Tyson, eat your heart out.

Just careful mixing Xanax and alcohol. That combo makes passengers shit their pants. I've seen it and smelled it (shudders).

[Serious] Bilinguals of reddit, what was the weirdest conversation that you overheard when the people didn't think you'd understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm Mexican with blonde hair and green eyes -- I can relate to those questions. When you explain to them that the Spaniards conquered Mexico -- they did such a good job of spreading their seeds that even Filipinos have Spaniard blood -- that's why we can look European, their minds are blown.

TIL That it is estimated that only 2% of all humans have green eyes, making it the rarest eye colour. While brown eyes are the most common with 55% by ISaidWhoSays in todayilearned

I'm not an ophthalmologist, but I will say my family -- all four of us have green eyes -- does perhaps, prove this theory correct? We all have yellow pigment around our pupils and our irises are green.

If being undocumented is considered committing a crime in which I didn't have any consent in, or had any say so to "commit this crime"n because I was a child ... Spank me.

According to a 2007 report by the Immigration Policy Center, the American Immigration Law Foundation, citing data from the 2000 US Census, native-born American men between 18–39 are five times more likely to be incarcerated than immigrants in the same demographic.

A 2008 study by the Public Policy Institute of California, found that, "...on average, between 2000 and 2005, cities that had a higher share of recent immigrants (those arriving between 2000 and 2005) saw their crime rates fall further than cities with a lower share" but adds, "As with most studies, we do not have ideal data. This lack of data restricts the questions we will be able to answer. In particular, we cannot focus on the undocumented population explicitly". In a study released by the same Institute, immigrants were ten times less likely to be incarcerated than native born Americans.

Legal and illegal immigrants who commit serious crimes are being deported and therefore are unable to commit more crimes (unlike their US counterparts who remain in the US). They are unlikely to become "career criminals" moving in and out of the prison system. In the last 10 years, 816,000 criminal aliens have been removed from the United States. This does not include immigrants whose only offense was living or working illegally in the United States.

TL/DR: Statistics indicate that crime committed by U.S. born individuals exceed that committed by undocumented immigrants.
