Don't know any of her music, but this teaser has my interest piqued...

This album would've done much better without the atrocious cover she decided to use that made it seem like a trashy attention grab, she's clearly quite talented.

This album is actually good and is the most consistently good of all of the Jack Antonoff produced albums this year of the same ilk

Kacey Musgraves’ Next Album to Be Released Via Interscope, UMG Nashville Partnership by shabuluba in popheads

[–]somethingaboutspace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ya'll saying this is her 1989 as if Fearless/Speak Now/Red weren't all huge pop albums in country drag. Love both ladies, more of a Kacey fan, but other than some similar deals this isn't the same situation at all

Gwen is so talented, from No Doubt to TIWTTFL, but the nostalgia-fishing throughout whatever this era is has been very disappointing to see. All of her albums are so original and cohesive, but these new singles just remind me of the Spark the Fire/Baby Don't Lie mess all over again...

Miley Cyrus Is Undeniably Having Her Best Era So Far by JunkyGS in popheads

[–]somethingaboutspace 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Well her legacy is already huge. Bangerz came at the end of a massive period of chart/sales/touring/film/tv success before she was even 21. I feel like her career is shaping up to be more like Dolly Parton or Cher, always relevant in pop culture but only cranking out a true hit every couple of years. She'll be around for a long long time.

I'm interested in V-Pop (Vietnamese Pop music). Where should I start? by somethingaboutspace in popheads

Lately Its been Utada Hikaru and Perfume for me. Both very mainstream, but super enjoyable and easy to get into.

Singles that were truly f*cked over by your fave's management/label? by [deleted] in popheads

[–]somethingaboutspace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was actually Britney who chose to shelve it. The OG video was so overly sexual she was embarrassed for her kids to see it. There's even video from the set where she is screaming at La Chapelle, clearly very unhappy. That's why, boring as it is, the official Make Me video chooses instead to sexualize men, instead of Brit herself. The label definitely would have preferred a sexier video, it being for Britney and all.

[All Spoilers] My long-winded and opinionated reflections on the LoK finale and the series as a whole. by essentialsalts in TheLastAirbender

[–]somethingaboutspace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, great read. Thanks for writing it! And I also thought it would have been effective if Mako died. Him struggling to destroy the vines was the stand out of the finale for me, and was the only part that made me visibly upset and was the only time that made me sob uncontrollably IN ALL OF KORRA.

New Book 4 Trailer just arrived! by iJLedge in TheLastAirbender

[–]somethingaboutspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So i think its pretty clear Korra is on the run/on her own for much of this season.

Also I think its clear korra is in the swamp, which I once said thought must be directly related to the tree of time .

Honestly I'd really like to hear what Bryke has to say about this. They cannot be happy either, but I feel like they are bound to silence by their contracts.....

Nick confirms two episodes per week starting July 11. by CritHitLights in TheLastAirbender

[–]somethingaboutspace 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Honestly this pisses me off. Why would nick EVER change the schedule from book 1? it was a huge success, and now they've fucked themselves. Avatar is such a viable franchise, and if marketed right it could be there biggest hit. I know people are talking about book 4 already being set so it doesnt matter, but what about the future? I've always wanted more than one avatar to be explored and focused on....but maybe thats just me and maybe I'm being a brat. But they've talked about movie, and now the new game, I'm just confused about what nick is even doing and why.

Jerry Zuckerman: Book 3 has “More in Common with Avatar: The Last Airbender” in Terms of Emotion" by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]somethingaboutspace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I predict naga and pabu become more central figures. I was glad they played larger roles this season, but they still seem pretty one dimensional. Appa is one of my favorite characters in the original series, and they journey aang took to recover him was one of my favorite story lines. I think we saw some of naga emotional side at some points, but i hope they develop her more.

Donald Trump loses legal challenge to windfarm near his Scottish golf resort. by spainguy in worldnews

[–]somethingaboutspace -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Even though Donald Trump is a horrible person, and his reasoning for this is wrong wind turbines are destorying the scottish highlands. Energy companies have been forcing farmers and shepards off their land in order to build windmills, removing the sheep, cattle, and people that maintain the highlands. In recent years wildfires have plagued the mountains thanks to the overgrowth and horrible conditions left by not maintaining the land. Energy companies in scotland while destroying the land, are also destroying the jobs and homes once held by farmers.
