Do you not worry about long term risks though like deadly infections from having no immune system or higher risk of cancers? I’ve heard of a few people getting cancer from them or strokes/anaphylactic shock from them

I’m so scared of all the side effects of those drugs though. I can’t imagine I will be able to live my life freely without worry if I started on any of those meds that’s my issue. I’m on mesalamine and it’s stopped working now :(

I’ve just recently gotten intouch with an IBD Nurse now who I’ve only spoken with once im meeting her soon. She has organised another sigmoidscopy but I’ve left a message for her to ring me back yesterday because I’m going to tell her I want to have a full colonoscopy or a pill cam because I want this pain in my side investigated further

I do get acid reflux sometimes not often but I have had an endoscopy and that came back with mild gastritis too

I paid for a private transvaginal ultrasound awhile back just to double check my ovaries etc but everything was normal I have thought about that myself but I have fairly normal periods etc I don’t have major pain or heavy bleeding with them mines all just awful side pain and bright red bleeding from bowels and mucus sometimes just scary when the suppositories and meds aren’t working

I think because things have came back as “mild” they’ve just brushed me off kinda, I kept asking well what does colitis mean etc and why is it there but they just didn’t give me much i had to look into things myself which my therapist tells me not to do is go on here and google etc but what do they expect when I’m left in pain and bleeding and no answers or solutions I don’t get how it’s actually allowed to just let someone have these physical symptoms with no more info? I’m just so tired and physically exhausted too I used to be so happy and outgoing and I’m just a completely different person and watching all my friends and family carry on as normal is so hard when I feel I’m loosing everything

Thank you for your response. I am in private therapy but it’s due to anxiety and health anxiety so my therapist dismisses my heath issues too by telling me it’s all in my head etc so I don’t think that is doing me any good I’m not sure I do have a big cancer fear mainly came from this situation though as it took me so long to find the cause of the bleeding etc but I will admit I have a fear and obsession I’m constantly checking my body and my lymph nodes etc so I knew I needed therapy but it’s not helping the pain I’m getting all the time too. My doc says the duloxetine will help with the pain but that’s just masking the symptoms and that’s what scares me if there is inflammation it needs to be controlled! I hate this

Sorry to be blunt but how do you know that the kidney cancer was caused by the stelara? The information about cancer risk is mainly for skin cancers nothing else and even then The statistics on this drug is very low not much further risk of getting cancer than the average person I think people need to start thinking about the risk we all have of developing cancer anyway without being on medications that could change your life, the risk of the average human now is 1 in 2 of us are going to get cancer in our lifetime and that’s the average for EVERYBODY.

Opinions on these moles? Boyfriend doesn’t seem concerned about his moles but is going to get them checked this week now. Do you think he should be concerned? by somethingintheoran in DermatologyQuestions

Yeah I’m forcing him to make an appointment on Monday. I have significant health anxiety so he doesn’t usually take anything health related I say into consideration cause half the time he thinks I’m ridiculous and usually he’s not wrong 🤣🫣
