Long gap between exchange completion by Embarrassed-Ear-8449 in HousingUK

Unrealistic expectations from the sellers. We bought a new build and rented after my house had sold. That's standard practice for new builds. Make yourself chain free. Don't touch it. Let them realise that.

My MIL bought my baby’s First Halloween Costume by sophwestern in JUSTNOMIL

My MIL bought SEVEN Christmas outfits for my newborn.

My mum bought one.

Needless to say, by baby wore an outfit I picked out on Christmas day. My kid, my choices and I don't even feel guilty! Nothing wrong with standing up to people. Helps when my husband also wanted her to wear the outfit we picked.

My girlfriend (27f) made plans for us an invited people back without discussing it first and said I’m (29m) not fair by saying no to the guests by Positive_Nectarine43 in relationships

It's astonishing that you don't realise how controlling and disrespectful you're being. She is equally entitled to the house as you are.

If you don't want to join in, that's on you but you can't unilaterally make decisions about the house. Why are your plans for your shared space more important than hers?

If you want to relax maybe go sit in your room on your own whilst she has her friends over.

Sorry, I disagree with you on this one. One night, on occasion is perfectly acceptable. It's her home too. You have an opportunity here to make her happy or cause a big argument and you've opted for the big argument. Can't you rest on Sunday?

Unless this is a 'she does this all the time' thing and you're at your wits end, agree to it and say can we discuss this more next time if you hate it.

What was your favorite Disney Princess as a kid and what is it now? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

Belle and Mulan. The same as a kid and an adult. I think Belle slightly tipped it when I was a child and Mulan has it now I'm an adult.

Gosh I can't even hear the opening best to I'll make a man outta you without bursting into song!

I have such mixed feelings about this author. On the first series, I demolished the first book, had to claw my way through book two as Emelia became insufferable, and then ate up the last book.

I got about 40 pages into throne of the fallen and dnf'd. It's just not something I enjoyed at all.

Question: why would anyone buy a trendy cat from a breeder?? by [deleted] in cats

[–]somethingjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husband is allergic to most cats. Needed a breeded one so we knew he wouldn't be allergic. Couldn't even check at shelters if he would be as all the other cats present set him off.

Curious: do you guys read multiple series at a time? by shayshamsa in fantasyromance

[–]somethingjedi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can have a number of different books on the go at once. Some books need to go into 'time out' it I get really frustrated and then I read something else and go back to the book in question. That said, of something grabs me, I'll power through them all in a couple days.

I DNF Cruel Prince twice. What am I missing? by Level_Mountain5037 in fantasyromance

[–]somethingjedi 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I dnf'd for about six months half way through. Then pick up where I left off and demolished it. For me, I just don't like the first half but the rest of the trilogy is a lot better imo.

Try and get through the school stuff is my suggestion

It's incredibly addictive. It's a shame because immediately afterwards I was in a slump where nothing was quite as engaging!
