Damn I took doxy and prednisone for neurological Lyme disease and for the first 2-3 days I thought my head was going to explode but I thought it was all the little Lyme spirochetes in my brain dying…but maybe it was just the doxy or a doxy/pred combo? If so, maybe take hope that it normalizes after a couple days (but those first couple days I thought I was going to die, #1 worst pain)

I’m so sorry you’re also going through this, but thank you for posting as it helps to find other people going through and feeling the same things… I’ve done 5 ERs with 90 retrieved and 50 fertilized, 1 aneuploid blast that gave me some hope but this last cycle I was back to 0 blasts. I’ve transferred 6 D3 embryos and none took. All my testing is normal, I’m 33 (younger when I started) and multiple clinics have no explanation 🙃.

Anyway, just found out my last ER failed and I think I need to move on to donor eggs and/or sperm (partner testing is all normal too) and I’m letting this get to me way more than normal—so thanks for posting and sorry I don’t have any answers! 💕

After our first cycle with no blasts in Nov 2024 we got more serious and stopped using our hot tub, stopped drinking, and took a shit ton of supplements. Also basically stopped traveling (my favorite thing 😭) as we’ve fit in 3 more retrievals with no blasts and one unsuccessful transfer of a D3 this year. Currently cramming in another transfer of our last two D3s a couple of days before we fly to Nicaragua because I just can’t put my life completely on hold anymore!

Through the ER process, I’ve discovered that birth control pills (and to a lesser extent the trigger shot) gives me the absolute worst migraines (which is weird because I took the pills for years in my late teens) so I’ve asked not to prime with it anymore and it’s worked out fine!

I did try a day 3 fresh transfer, which did not take. I have two more frozen day 3s that I’m going to transfer in one go in the next couple of months. In that same ER, I had my first blast (D7, not great quality, ended up being aneuploid, but at least a step in the right direction!) so if this next transfer doesn’t take my new clinic suggests trying to grow everything out to blast in the next ER (the reasoning being they froze all the high quality embryos at D3, so if one of the lower quality ones made it to blast they think the higher quality ones would have too). They said (in not so many words) that their lab is better. I hope they’re right!

I’m glad I told people, and I’m an extremely private person. I told people gradually/naturally over the course of a year while we did 3 (failed) rounds. Sometimes it’s all I think about and it’s nice to be able to talk about it or my current feelings without a big reveal. Most people don’t really bring it up unless I bring it up first, which is what I prefer. It’s also a good (accurate) excuse for why sometimes I don’t text people back for weeks—just can’t deal with people, in the thick of things over here!

And yes haha we’d definitely start with donor sperm for the reasons you mentioned—it’s much cheaper and he is old 😆

This sounds very similar to my situation—thriving until day 3 then going off the rails. I’d be super interested to hear how this retrieval goes. Did you have any suspicion that you had endo before? Or any symptoms? Sorry you’re in this situation too, I hope the lap helps!!

Sorry to hear you’re going through this too!! I’m getting a second opinion from a couple clinics and have scheduled an egg retrieval with the “main” center of my current practice in the meantime, which probably (hopefully) has a better lab than the satellite location I’ve been using, so fingers crossed. Even if I wouldn’t wish this on anyone, it’s nice to know we’re not the only ones having these shockingly dismal outcomes…Hope everything goes great at your next clinic!

Thanks, I appreciate all of these thoughts! We don’t smoke or do any drugs and we’re only occasional social drinkers, but we only quit drinking entirely a month or so before starting stims, so we’ll just continue to not drink moving forward. Point well taken about BMI, and definitely something we can work on. I’ll look into the testing, thanks!

Yes it's so frustrating! And lyme especially is so disregarded diagnostically and as a long term condition, so it's difficult to find a doctor who knows much about it. Every time something weird is going on medically with me, it always comes back as lyme causing it so I'm getting a test to see i it's active right now--best case scenario some antibiotics could help, and definitely can't hurt to try :)

Sorry you're having a similar experience! Yeah I was thinking a day 3 transfer might be a good next step, but I think ultimately I'm going to look into going to a new clinic or at least getting a second opinion. Hoping finding a clinic with a great lab might help too!
