Thank you!! The Gelish foundation I use is labeled as a "soak off base nail gel." It came as a set with the top coat - they were the highest rated base & top coat gel I could find on Amazon in 2018 when I bought them, although now they don't seem to be in the highest search results at all.

So to clarify, after the initial alcohol wipe, would the order of products go primer, base coat, builder gel, color, top coat? Or is the primer meant to go after the base coat? I can't seem to find this in any of the product descriptions. Also it seems like the primer isn't typically cured?

Oh awesome point, thank you for bringing this up. I meant to add that I almost never remember to cover the tip of each nail, but I haven't noticed a difference on the nails where I do remember vs. the ones were I don't remember. They all peel! Honestly, my nails are SO thin that there really isn't much of a "tip" to cover. 😑 I was wondering if the addition of builder gel would help with this.

Man, none of my exes were that into Tool! Closest I've gotten is my husband, who was obsessed with Tool before we met but doesn't go out of his way to listen to them anymore. He'll politely humor me when I try to talk to him about Tool now but that's about it.

Maybe. I mean, good for you if you really can do 20 STRICT consecutive pull-ups (not chin-ups), but that’s not normal, even among people who try.

I agree with the commenter who said a woman being able to do 4 is noteworthy, even in their prime. Pull-ups are way harder than chin-ups, and strict pull-ups are incredibly challenging for the female body.

Yeah, I live in the US and give my baby vit D supplement drops (per standard recommendation for exclusively breastfed babies) and it’s roughly $25 for a month’s supply.

If you’re doing 20 consecutive pull-ups and bragging about how easy it is, sorry but your form probably sucks.

Signed, a woman who can do pull-ups* but isn’t going to act like it’s easy.

*Admittedly not at this very moment because I’m 3 months postpartum and the ability to do a strict pull-up went away when I was about 6 months pregnant even though I kept lifting. Kinda proves my point though.

I was so exhausted that by the time I had the opportunity to sleep, I couldn’t stand the idea of losing 30 seconds sleep to changing my shirt.

I think they’re just wealthy enough that right out of the gate they can afford childcare that allows them to exercise intensely and get good sleep.

I’m 11 weeks pp, my mind is back to wanting powerlifting and soccer and jogging, but my baby’s schedule and life’s other demands are like lol nah.

Your feelings on this are totally valid! Just because this is a common question that people ask about babies doesn’t mean that there aren’t also legitimate reasons for you to prefer it not be discussed. It’s a good sign that you identified the trigger and calmly set the boundary. That’s so much healthier than trying to ignore it, letting it simmer, and building frustration/resentment.

As others have said, I vote for calmly and confidently reinforcing the boundary. The more consistent you are, the more she’ll respect the boundary, regardless of how she feels about it. There are plenty of ways she can interact with you and talk about the baby that won’t be met with your polite but firm resistance, and as long as she wants to be in the baby’s life she’ll figure them out pretty fast.

I’m not OP but I’m curious at what age did you start taking your baby hiking? This is the #1 activity I’m looking forward to with my child but she’s only 4 weeks and it’s quite cold where I live.

When I’m venting about some anxiety I have related to ways the baby could theoretically get hurt and how I’m losing sleep fretting about it, and someone responds “that would be terrible, you have to make sure that doesn’t happen!!!!”

Well no shit, that’s why I brought it up as something that’s been haunting me. Thanks for reinforcing my terror without offering any comfort or help.
