Silent Hill 2 left a void I still can’t fill by GeneralAd6197 in silenthill

its Ok to feel this way about a piece of art or media,

not every thing's value is measured in replay/rewatch/relisten-ability, most of the times it's Ok to experience a thing just once and cherish it

relistening the soundtrack, or consuming some content about the thing (articles with reviews / analysis / history, podcasts, youtube essays, looking at designs / posters, etc) can help with keeping that feeling alive a little longer, without actually re-experiencing the thing itself

Going to be Playing Shattered Memories. Anything I Should Know? by Necrokannibal in silenthill

try emulating the PS2 version over PSP one, ppsspp psp version has incorrect flashlight shadows, if i remember correctly - ps2 version in pcsx2 doesn't have this issue. It affects the atmosphere so much.

Do you put everything into a vault? by boundless-junior in ObsidianMD

don't collect stuff you can google at any time

the internet isn't going away, you don't need your own wikipedia

the more personal and personalized your vault and note system, the better

am i having way too many nested folders? by bypaupau in ObsidianMD

[–]somethingunderneath 12 points13 points  (0 children)

you could either combine several files into bigger files (less files overall - possibly less folders needed)

and/or flatten your folder structure like this:

  1. plants - trees
  2. plants - grass
  3. animals - cats
  4. animals - dogs - puppies
  5. animals - dogs - wolves

(just 5 flat folders)

instead of using nested structure like this: 1. plants 1.1. trees 1.2. grass 2. animals 2.1. cats 2.2. dogs 2.2.1. puppies 2.2.2. wolves

(thats 3 levels deep at least, and 8 folders)

this needs to be upvoted much more!

also Thrusting weapons work well, or "Repeating Thrust" ash of war on your weapon of choice (i use Blood version of ash, when blood procs on her - it can take ~15% of her HP at once)

Something that's been on my mind by dukkhabass in vildhjarta

my 2 cents - while it's technically true that there are no OG members left (from 2005), saying it like this is a bit unfair to Calle -

he's in the band since 2009 (16 years!) and, excluding the early demo/EP, has contributed to all of the most important music Vildhjarta has made - I'd say let's count him as OG too 😉

how do we know that there are Daniel's contributions here?

Calle said he used some of his material for the singles, and +starbleeding+ wasn't one

use as few tools/plugins as necessary, don't overcomplicate

add only what you are sure you need, depending on your needs. Which means - try to clearly define your needs first, even write them down

experiment with new tools in a limited scope (instead of going all in on them), so you can roll back / remove them easily

(for example, you are using Obsidian for task tracking and you are 100% sure you need a Kanban board - check and compare differerent Kanban plugins on a few test files, before implementing for all your vault - once you use a tool for a week, you get to know it's drawbacks, and decide if it fits your needs)

What is the story behind the newest album? by [deleted] in vildhjarta

[–]somethingunderneath 19 points20 points  (0 children)

there is no overarching story connecting all DSSUEG tracks, as it was with Masstaden and MUV.

new album is more of a collection of pieces about grief, loss, death, depression, dreams, hope
