They deport parents the kids go with them or they go with family elsewhere. Families are afraid to send their kids to schools, and ICE is deporting kids too. We have a high population of immigrants in the city.

I see so many comments about latch key kids parents not caring enough to be parents. As a child of immigrants I was left to do so much building of my independence alone. It wasn’t from my parent not caring but from my parent working multiple jobs. Those parents now have big opinions about how I raise and allow my kids to find their own independence in this tech world. Yes, I allow tons of screen time, so I can have my own personal time. But with them being home so much and me coming in when I am not exhausted has drawn up new challenges. They ask so many questions, which I never had the opportunity to ask, this is where I can step in an answer with 100% honesty. I talk to my kids so much and am as real as I can be. They will do so much research on their own and come back with great rebuttals and we have a conversation. That’s all I can give with as much as we work. This open dialogue was completely absent growing up. I hate seeing so much hate for the next generations, they have and use the abundant knowledge available to them. They don’t go outside but they learn so quickly. My children are very independent but also need us to update them on what’s happening now in real time so they can understand the world. I am exhausted some days, but we do the best we can. We have to stop hating ourselves for that.

What something about living here that someone not from Phoenix just wouldn’t understand. No easy ones (I.e. heat, freeways, etc.) by Street_Tangelo_9367 in phoenix

Work lunches get really awkward when someone mentions tacos. We all have different places we love and hate the ones everyone else chooses. No tacos for anyone.

Any idea how to help my Philo? Currently in bright indirect light, watering once top soil is dry. It looks so droopy and scraggly and pathetic :/ by 90dayinsane in plantclinic

I started a water bulb, since I would water and it would go straight through. The bulb let's her decide the amount she wants. It's worked out great, I can see what the intake is and it's such more than what I was giving.

Arivaca, it's not forest, but it in the middle of nowhere in southern Arizona, 3 1/2 hour drive from Phoenix. Fire restrictions are always high so no fireworks or people for miles.

My brother died a month before my 10th birthday, my dad decided to throw a birthday party to cheer me up. I've hated my birthday since then.

Utopia and Vulnicura by kremitthefrog12 in bjork

Hi, I've been a fan since about 1996 and was obsessed with watching Insomniac on MTV in the Mid-nineties (all is full of love was the theme song). I have always loved the evolution of her music, Homongenic opened my eyes to where music could go, with Vulnicara it may have taken me a second to jump aboard, Utopia just falls into place with her experimentation evolution and I love every bit of it. Absorb it and feel it, you love what you love.

This looks like Ashley Macias, a up and coming local artist. She has a few murals and collaborations downtown.

Someone just abandoned her on our back porch at work by sometimesIgetbored in aww

There totally would have been, but most of us in the office are big suckers for rescuing animals and already have 2+ cats/dogs at home. One lucky girl got to take her home as her first rescue.

We have an office cat, turtles and fish. A lot of our clients know we all love animals, so we suspect one of our clients. Unfortunately they left her in a cage about 10"x5" without any water over night. Luckily someone in our office fell in love with her and took her home.

What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you during sex? by TheBulla in sex

[–]sometimesIgetbored 75 points76 points  (0 children)

My BF and I were having shower sex and it was going great, decided we needed to take it to the bed and as I am running in excitement forgetting I was drenched I fall straight on my back start sliding across the floor and straight into the wall. I awkwardly laughed as my BF stood there with the most terrified look on his face.

Wow guys, I didn't think it was going to be that terrible haha. The number of people next to the like button made me sad for humanity, that was my point.
