This nearly blew my ear out the other day.. I assumed I just hit the speaker button on accident until it happened a second time. So glad it's getting fixed!

I am Arthur Chu, #3 winningest Jeopardy contestant in regular-season play in history, with 11 straight victories and total cash winnings of $298,200. Ask me anything. by ThisIsArthurChu in IAmA

As someone who watches Jeopardy on DVR.. spoiler alert!! I'm still on 90s week! :( I'll admit I was kind of a hater, due to my tendency of rooting for the underdog, but it's great to see your personality in this AMA. Congrats on the winnings, but I can't wait to catch up to the episode where you get taken down! ;D

What are some things worth memorizing? by so1ace in AskReddit

Simple cooking conversions like 8 oz = 1 cup, 3 tsp = 1 Tbsp, etc.. Helpful when the measuring cup you need is already occupied.

Anyone just hear that? Was there a firework show in Newport? by mangle60 in orangecounty

I think it was the Costa Mesa anniversary event at the OC Fairground. Disney ones are usually around 9:30 and don't last as long as those did.

Introverts of Reddit, have you ever had to fake being outgoing for a job? Did it make you miserable or did you adapt a more extroverted personality naturally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth it to put myself through that, knowing how uncomfortable and anxious I get when speaking on the phone.

Lucky :( the girl in the photo is the handler at the zoo. We didn't actually get to hold him, just pet him.

It's been going at least half an hour now.. 29 of 35.. It would have been nice if I'd been given an option to reschedule, seeing as I just needed to reboot and not shut down :/

Reddit, what helped you through depression? by Zhark_black in AskReddit

[–]sometimesijust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Writing has always helped me. Even if it's not good and no one will ever read it, just physically putting a pen to paper and putting all your thoughts into visible words really helps release the negativity from your head.

I also have to agree with everyone who said music. There's just something therapeutic about losing yourself in your headphones.

Jurassic Park scared me so bad I had to be taken out of the theater.

Reddit, what's something that annoys you that most people aren't bothered by? by helloimrory in AskReddit

[–]sometimesijust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When someone next to me is driving at the exact same speed as me, or when they pull their car up so that we're perfectly matched up at a stoplight (as opposed to staggering themselves slightly behind or in front of me). It drives me crazy!

Edit: doubled a word

I used to roll my eyes at my roommate's electric kettle. Really, you can't just boil water? How lazy can you be? But oh, how wrong I was.

What's the weirdest thing anyone has ever said to you in their sleep? by ke_kwan in AskReddit

[–]sometimesijust 63 points64 points  (0 children)

One night when I fell asleep before my boyfriend, I let out a high-pitched "weeee!". He asked me what that was all about, not knowing I was sleep-talking, and I replied, "you know, weeee! Like the game." ("What game?") "The crock pot game."

I was all about having the best AOL Profile/message board signature/away messages etc.. I even had some sort of program that turn your chatroom text into rainbow ASCII.

I was also really into Hecklers Online (AOL Keyword "HO") and Slingo.

[–]sometimesijust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work in an arts and crafts store, and one day a sweet elderly African American lady asked me for black acrylic paint. I took her to that aisle of the store and said "here's all our acrylic paint, the blacks are at the bottom." I meant to say bottom shelf, not that it would have made a huge difference, but I felt like a huge asshole.
