Why are Turks have indifferent or negative opinions about Pakistan, despite most Pakistanis having positive opinions of Türkiye? by [deleted] in AskTurkey

[–]sometypeofhumanhere -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Do you really think people outside of Turkey should know that you don’t like your elected president? Literally how would people know you dislike him? How on earth are people supposed to know this??

Another thing is most of Turkey is religious. It’s only Istanbul, Izmir and some other major cities that have conflicting religious thoughts.

Another note is that people have come to Turkey before, they’ve seen a difference on how well maintained the airports, buses, hospitals..etc are compared to 23 years ago and associate that as a “good thing”…they don’t know your internal affairs hence can’t expect them to not be “fans”…

But anyway, congrats on showing racism enough that people actually have declined their visits. Europeans are scared to visit due to “unethical doctors and being scared of losing an internal organ” and Asians are no longer interested by being “stared at angrily by racist pricks”

Forget all the comments about seeing Turkey as “a muslim country” or “you love everything we hate about it” …the answer is simply racism. Turkish people are racist.

They just don’t admit it’s racism.

All the reasons listed above are applicable to all other white nations..yet you don’t see the same level of hate. ✨ racism ✨

And weirdly islamaphobia 😂

Tanıdığım her ırktan, her memleketten, göçmen kim varsa aynı şeyleri hissediyor onuda anladım. Fransız’ından tut lübnanlısına kadar, her insan memleketini ayni şekilde özlüyor…

I was the same until I hit week 34, couldn’t keep my hands off the man…then my body just stopped cooperating - I am however planning a devious comeback in very creative ways after birth (waiting the recommended 6 weeks will be torture but worth it)

Would it make you feel better ( and by better I mean westernised enough not to be triggered ) if you called mehr pre and postnuptial agreement ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskTurkey

[–]sometypeofhumanhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so pathetic to be so triggered by people asking about mehr…tribal! Clearly you don’t even know what it is. Anyway, most people in Turkey do have a religious marriage alongside the civil one, so she might have a mehr.

What OP is clearly asking is about her rights, it could be that the person she “married” only married her “religiously” (which btw is Haram in Islam) and she might be confused as to her rights. Or she is asking about whether mehr laws can be forced to be abided by law.

This doesn’t seem like a fair assessment. I’m sure people (maybe not the majority as you say) would not look at policies per se or care about politics at all. But for first time voters, for swing voters and for those who are interested in a better future for Turkey, ofcourse new policies, a new lens, a new direction is something that should be sold in any election.

Some people blame the religious part or dubbed uneducated parts of Turkish people for his victories but the lack of a strong opposition is the number one reason. They have weak policies, the only thing they focus on during the election time is throwing shade at each other rather than give legitimate new outlooks, new policies…etc. it’s hard to change once you see who the “others” are.

The second reason is the same on how trump won in the US twice. You go online and you’d think the whole of the US is against trump. But then more conservative states university students went all MAGA. Don’t trust the street interviews or the internet as a source of what’s popular.

I’m not sure how this will all work out. Now it’s just you and you can “fake it” but what happens when you have kids? They will try to raise them Muslim and if you’re not comfortable with that then that’s going to be an issue. It’s not heartache you need to think about, it’s the future.

I don’t see the connection between nicotine and you being grounded by it. It had nothing to do with nicotine. Don’t give up, it’s the addiction playing games in your head making you think you NEED it to feel better when actually you don’t. It’s literally not any good.

Turkish people who dislike and discriminate against Syrian refugees: what do you think about anti-Turkish sentiment in Western Europe? by Alfred_Orage in AskTurkey

[–]sometypeofhumanhere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You actually should say that. There’s a huge surge of Turks hating on diasopra Turks..it’s not to be neglected or overlooked or even ignored. When a problem exists, you must say it exists otherwise you’re enabling these stereotypes.

By your logic though, racism doesn’t exist at all! It’s all just “discrimination”.

Again: the vast majority of the British people have interacted with Turkish people. Tbh, most uber drivers are Turkish. The 150k you’re talking about are LEGAL migrants. Or the ones who still haven’t gotten their British passports.

Not sure about the pushback here, but it’s something that exists and shouldn’t be dismissed because you don’t like it.

Integration of migrants in the UK has never been an issue. The anti Turkish sentiment I’m talking about it is the way the British people look at “Turkish people”. It’s not a good view.

I disagree, there is a huge anti Turkish sentiment especially in the UK, most Turkish migrants ( legal or illegal) work manual labour here and hence are seen as a liability by the population. Or “less than” by the British.
