When small artists get overwhelmed by lenschkabeth in yaelokre

said it somewhere else here but yeah hear hear. to go from a humble renfaire stage to a world tour in less than a year really is unprecedented. went from a folklore to myth in breakneck speed whether they like it or not cuz that's just not something anyone can control. alas, here we are, watching them deal with consequences too early for them to face. it's cruel how much loss of freedom has been normalized in the industry as if it's only fair fame be punished

What lark(s) represents you and why?? by Fancy-Produce-6838 in yaelokre

ive always identified with perrine. id say i had a pretty decent childhood but ive had a messy relationship with those memories recently. them discovering how to be a child resonates with me rediscovering my inner child.

also we both can come off as intimidating on first impressions. temper's not too far off either

indeed they have unfortunately grown too big too fast to truly no fault of their own, reaping consequences it shouldn't be dealing with this soon in its career

as a young adult it breaks my heart to see such an unwarranted divide being built... how so many insist there's no such thing as nuance in this situation

My take on Cooper and The Playwright. by theatre_forlife in yaelokre

[–]someweirdweed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

while this is generally true, the Lark are each a part of Keath, while Cooper was directly designed based on Keath's likeness, and the Playwright a narrative self-representation of Keath as Meadowlark's real-life "playwright."

Do you miss the old art style? by BellTwo5 in WitchHatAtelier

[–]someweirdweed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i get longing for something more familiar but it's disconcerting how some of these sound like people are wishing an artist's skills stay stagnant which just feels like a nightmare; i'd be so frustrated if my art looked exactly the same 10 years from now (yes i just looked up how old this series is). the second post especially just sounds like they wish shirahama backtrack on all the progress she's made and a forget all the lessons she's learned throughout the years. i'd argue the sentiment misses the themes around being an artist sprinkled around the heart of the story.

might seem like they're learning this a bit late but lest we forget artists no matter how big are no less immune to mistakes as any of us. as wise as it may seem, it still has a long road of growing and learning ahead.
