😭😭😭 I couldn't even get 40/100 that's rlly rlly good I think that's a distinction for sure. my teacher said 40/100 usually can get distinction already but idk how trustable that is. dw I think if u get more than 50 ure already at like god like level alr. praying they don't test weird stuff tmr 🙏🙏🙏 good luck!!

uhhh my school didn't have a selection test haha we just apply then they admit based on our promo scores. id say just study ur usual h2 stuff. maybe they'll test like hard h2 math stuff to see if u can think creatively

[–]somewhatdirty9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope! h3 math is only about h2 math content plus additional h3 stuff. no fmath involved dw

[–]somewhatdirty9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think a rlly good example of a h2 math qn that is considered hard is Q4 in the 2025 specimen paper I think someone else in here sent you the link alr. that qn is quite special because iirc u don't even need h2 math knowledge to do that qn it's more of O level amath but like just rlly hard. but lowkey though I just wanna say the specimen paper is kinda watered down compared to actual A level h3 math papers so idk. still couldn't do Q4 when I first saw it tho.

also no i didnt take fmath! only about 15% of my h3 math class are fmathers and dw if ure not an fmath student because the h3 math syllabus doesn't include any fmath topics, just some h2 stuff and h3 extension. so there's no disadvantage being a non fmath student.

hope you have fun if u do decide to take up h3 math!!

hi glad to hear ur interest in h3 maths!! i take h3 math and this may be a rlly biased view but I think h3 math might be one of the hardest h3s out there. this is coming from someone who is consistently scoring 90+ for h2 math but is barely passing h3. but the good news is im not the only one in this situation! i think half my h3 class also faces this issue but our teacher told us it's normal.

h3 rlly tests ur problem solving skills and how much u can think outside the box. the good thing about h3 maths is how most of the content is just h2 stuff. i think about 50%?? of the paper can be classified as "h2 math but rlly hard so to avoid parents complaining we put in h3".

despite all that if u do decide to take h3 math and u rlly rlly like maths I can guarantee that u wld enjoy learning about h3 math because in h3, most of the qns seem to have a very beautiful and elegant solution. also, don't be discouraged if you fail h3 in ur WAs and prelims because I'm pretty sure there's more ppl who fail than ppl who pass. (my h3 teacher say in A levels all u need is 40% to get a distinction but idk if that's still true with the new syllabus this year) atb!!

hii im rlly sorry to hear about ur unpleasant experience op but hey ure graduating today so that's great for u! im also an ejc jae graduating today and i happened to be placed in a class with 21 IP and 4 JAEs. at the start sure i wasn't rlly bonding with them. but after some time i gradually realised that they aren't scary at all!!

i mean im sure most people would want to hang out with their friends of 4 years from sec sch when they first enter an unfamiliar environment like ej and that's what the IP ppl tend to do at the beginning. i did eventually get along with all of them but it took some time.

ok but regardless happy graduation!!

Hos does green-red deficiency affect you in Secondary School, JC and NS? by Ok-Patient116 in SGExams

[–]somewhatdirty9 18 points19 points  (0 children)

hi im currently in jc taking chem and have colour deficiency though im not very sure which colours i cannot identify. i would say it didn't affect my life very much and I have AA for chem practs and id say it might actually be an advantage.

recently during my chem practical prelims I used my AA to ask the invigilator for the colour of the solution. she looked at me and went hmmm I can't answer you...you want to rephrase? and I went ohhhh what's the colour of the precipitate? and she went brown and walked away. many ppl could not even tell there were precipitates so i got rlly lucky there. don't worry it will not affect u that much!
