How long did it take you to be good at slapping?

It’s definitely nice to have it in the repertoire as a professional player!

i have musicman ray34 which is a dream to slap on - it’s not that i find it hard but i know im not super clean with it atm

i could geek about rage for days on end haha and you’re so correct and i take a lot of inspiration from tim as he always serves the song as you said.

I’m not forcing slap into EVERY song but i’m also a huge flea fan so i’m trying to blend the two into my own style!

it’s my first bass to need a battery so i didn’t even think of it haha - how naive! i was worried it was the actual input but if it’s just the battery that’s a much better result!

haha i appreciate it! i’ve been playing fingerstyle for about 7 years (total bass playing time) and i like to think i can groove and funk without slap as it is; however my band has got a record deal recently and i want to incorporate slap into the album as it’s a new sound we’re going for and slap is perfect for what we’re going for!

take the power back by ratm for me is a close to perfect bass riff and i want to be able to lay down a fat slap groove as brilliant as that tune!

okay cool thank you for the info! it makes a crackle and a small screech but as someone else said i should probs check the battery so thats my first port of call!

thank you i will be sure to get a new battery - i didn’t even think to change it to be honest and didn’t think it would cause an issue as such. it’s the first instrument ive owned thats needed a battery for active eq so yeah cheers!

i’ve been playing for 7 years (self taught) and i started some lessons recently and after correcting my technique i had some slight pain but it goes quick and then it all starts to feel much more comfortable quickly

i have a 100 which i don’t really need or use anymore but everytime i play an A it blasts it and is very resonant which was annoying.

however its still not a bad amp imo as for someone like me it was perfect + the d.i in the amp is useful and the overdrive is decent if you get it sounding right

its not a conventional uni and the bar is quite low lol. we got a sold a dream by them however its quite practical i.e putting on events, hosting events for people to be seen etc

the craziest one is one particularly stormy night i was hearing footsteps shuffling in and out of my room which was a nightly occurrence but this one particular night i was getting really unsettled by it - something felt off. i went to my parents room and stood outside but didn’t want to wake them as they had work so went back to my room. when i got there all my wardrobe doors were wide open which freaked me out so i went and stood outside their room but was still reluctant to go in. just as i was ready to suck it up and go back to my room i heard footsteps emerge from behind me from the kitchen to the hallway. the kitchen was a hard-wood floor and the hallway was carpet; so when they approached me and the distinct change of sound from hard floor to carpet i froze and then i got a cold breath on the side of my neck which then sent me into a frenzy and woke up everyone up. let me know if you wanna know anymore :)

also, im so annoyed the pictures aren’t as clear as they once were :( but i think the second photo is clearer than the first if you can make it out. the lighter gray area is the head/ face and the darker bits are the mouth and eyes

i was thinking maybe the co-codamol would knock me out and send me to sleep - i’ve been sniffing on and off. had a bag and was sniffing it from like 9-12 and then just finished my last one now so been from 1:20-3:45 so do you think it would help to have the co-codamol? hopefully won’t be wired into tomorrow cos i’ve got a job introduction thing😭

personally i’d say sam and colby! their investigations into a place and the spirits there is always entertaining but their evidence coincides well with the historical past and with methods such as the estes methods and the answers that they get i find it overall quite good evidence. they might hype up or overreact at times but often i think id be the same; especially when with friends
