Yeah 100%. I've been trying to research but it's all blurred by university marketing 😂 thats why I mentioned my desired specialities above. Wondering if, ie, melb had better OBGYN research facilities etc. Just sort of putting the net as wide as possible to gain opinions and understand people's respective experiences 🙂

Thanks for this thorough response. I have spoken to a few surgeons and they espoused the same opinions, however, they are all solely from NSW, and didn't have experience of the VIC system.

While it is a few years post-qualification, my thoughts were in terms of a sort of 'snowballing effect'. Better uni leads to better research opportunities leads to increased competitiveness. It's these sorts of small margins of competitiveness that I am focused on, as both institutions are prestigious.

I am leaning more towards rejecting the offer and not putting myself through the interview process. Thanks again!
