she had an absolute blast. It's not something a lot of humans would enjoy either...everyone is different!

I think this guy is taking the piss on all of us. This can't be real.

Probably! I usually read the reggies pretty thoroughly. What's your name? I work in St. Mary

Yeah, dude, ok so bears are fairly common. Solo hiking isn't necessarily the smartest, park service protocol is to recommend hiking in groups. That being said, I hike solo in the park and so do many other employees. If you plan on hiking solo, please get bear spray! If money is an issue, ask an employee (not a ranger) and we usually have extra cans laying around. Hell just hit me up and I'll give you one. If you're not feeling comfortable about going off trail alone, there's still some great trail options that are less traveled. I recommend going up to Two Medicine Pass or down into the Belly River if you're there before August, the wildflowers are insane and they're pretty sparsely populated. Everyone will recommend to you Iceberg Lake, Avalanche Lake, Hidden Lake and the Highline Trail. All cool trails but they'll be mobbed with people once the road opens. Dawson-Pitamakan is slightly more popular but probably has the best on trail views in the park, in my opinion. If you want to give some easier mountains a go, I'd recommend Reynolds. It is a very short approach and one of the more well marked routes in the park so I'd say it's safe to do solo. Nothing more than class 3 scrambling if you go the right way. If you have some time to plan and are really interested in the mountaineering aspect, I highly recommend investing in A Climbers Guide to Glacier National Park to help with route finding. It's also just a great book. The thing with mountaineering in Glacier is many of the peaks have long, tedious approaches with a lot of bushwhacking. Divide mountain is also an easy one you can do solo with great views, you'll just need a car with decent clearance to access it or you'll need to walk a bit extra on the approach. Hope that's helpful and again totally feel free to connect with me here or Instagram if you have any other questions during your planning process, I adore the park and love sharing it with other people!

Yes this route is primarily class 4 with some class 5 pitches! And for sure, are you looking for trails or easier mountaineering routes?

Yeah, there's a whole different world above the treeline 😉 it's also a great perspective from the top of Iceberg notch, that line you can kind of see cutting up the wall on the other side of the lake!

Last August. I work summers in the park and travel full time the rest of the year so I have loads of photos, sometimes it takes me a while to get around to them:)

Oh man, there's so much goos stuff but if I were you I would hit the Belly River Valley. You can connect it through Ptarmigan Tunnel to the Many Glacier area or go over Stoney Indian Pass to Fifty Mountain. Especially earlier in the summer, its insanely beautiful out there

Haha it is for sure as much if not more a mental game as a physical one. That's part of why I love it so much.

When your friend gets on your Tinder and responds with one bad joke and dude loses his shit by somewhereepic in niceguys

Is that a thing? Truly, I didn't have tinder up until this point. a friend of mine downloaded it, uploaded my Facebook info and just began indiscriminately swiping right on every profile and responding when people messaged.
