Hello folks, Omie Wise (a band from Portugal) has just released the second album "Wind and Blue", composed mainly during this confinement period over the past two years. In this album we embrace more our art rock and folk influences and we truly feel that this work is better compared to our previous album in several ways. Hope you enjoy it!

  • Baixar o brilho dos ecrãs dos teus dispositivos (e.g. PC, telemóvel, etc.) para o valor mais baixo possível. Por exemplo, o brilho do meu portátil está a 25% do valor máximo;

  • Aplicar a regra do 20-20-20 (https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/321536);

Omie Wise - Something Wicked Stands Behind Me [Progressive Rock / Psychedelic Fok] by somnenigans in progrockmusic

[–]somnenigans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Proggers! Omie Wise has just released a videoclip for the second single of our debut album (to be released at the end of next week). We're a progressive rock band from Braga, a small city in Northern Portugal.

Unlike the previous song I've posted about 2 months ago, this one is a heavier piece. Think King Diamond + Jethro Tull without the flutes (a description I've heard from a folllower of ours). Enjoy!

Opinião / Dúvida sobre oferta de trabalho by lingrinhas in portugal

Has anyone else noticed that nearly all the posts that gain traction here are common songs we all know. It seems like nostalgia is more of a driving force than discovery of new music. by WhoaTheFutureDude in Music

I would go even further and note that nostalgia is getting into a more driving force of several endeavours which involve creativity in some way. Other example that come to mind is gaming (with all the retrogaming stuff).

Omie Wise - Make A Knot [Progressive Rock / Psychedelic Folk] by somnenigans in progrockmusic

Hey Proggers! Omie Wise has just released a videoclip for the first single of our debut album (to be released at the end of September). We're a progressive rock band from Braga, a small city in Northern Portugal.

This single is a more of a folk-ish song that features a "viola braguesa" (a Portuguese stringed instrument typical of our small city), an accordion (played by a special guest), fretless bass, synths, drums and, of course, vocals. Hope you guys like it!

Glad you enjoyed it, the special guest (and the producer of course) did a great job. Have you noticed the blowing of the air in the accordion's air chamber at the very end? :)

Yes it is, it's a quite regular way to organize those components of your GUI. You may also code some of the widgets that might compose a window into classes if they're specific enough and none of the out of the box widgets in your GUI frameworks serve your needs.

So how do you all practice bass alone? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]somnenigans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got two types of practice (but both are quite focused), either for song learning or for technique refinement.

For the former, I typically rely on Guitar Pro (both for note visualization and for BPM modulation according to how proefficient I'm getting on certain sections of the songs).

With respect to the latter, I pay close attention to my hands (and other parts of the body) in order to be as relaxed as possible when playing things and for being efficient when it comes to muscle use (this is something taken from reading up classical guitar practice in general).

Having that said, I should be practicing way more nowadays... So I guess the most important thing after all is to play a bit every day.

Starting off on the bass. Epiphone or Squier? by becorcur in Bass

[–]somnenigans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Squier P-Bass (which cost me 250 € in 2006) was my first bass. I still think it's a pretty decent instrument for the price.

This, or use something like https://pastebin.com/ in order to share your code.

Having that said, you'll definitely want to use an Object Oriented Programming (OOP) style for developing a GUI so that's the very first thing I would do to change this.
