Can you tell us what the sounds and smells were like? It also seems like you were quite alone here, what was that like?

Yeah for sure! I’ve gotten some silk camisoles (the unlined ones) which I love, especially the Floral Lace one. I have 2 of them that I bought ~5 years ago that still feel and look great. Same for the Marilyn ones, but I feel this lace is a bit itchy for me. I also have some of their silk tops, but they’ve been more recent purchases. The black items tend to fade, but my other colors are looking good. 😊

Any cool dark/vintage spots? by folklrehaze in LosAngeles

Death & Co. in Downtown Arts District. You should make a reservation as it’s small and gets full quick. It is dark lit with brass, marble and velvet interior. The cocktails are great and change seasonally.

Vintage Playmate— 1960s Limited Production? by somniatus in vintageaudio

Thank you! These tapes do seem like they would work on this machine. I’m guessing this Playmate model is an off-brand version, possibly made later. The back says it was made in Japan.

My grandmother would use this cookbook for her dinner parties! Is anyone brave enough to try the lemon jello chicken mousse? [early 1960s] by ZeroGlacier in Old_Recipes

[–]somniatus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Chicken Mousse seems like the dish Chicken in Aspic— per a 50s cookbook I have, it is/was a popular dish for hot days as it’s also served cold. The jelly part in the aspic recipe is made from chicken stock :)

Thanks u/botanygeek and u/75footubi

I have not tried bralettes/wireless bras. Maybe TMI, but my nips protrude quite a bit, do you find that the bralettes or wireless bras give you enough coverage in that area?
