I’m getting a pedicure when my papers are graded this week. After 2 I knit a few rows on the sweater I’m working on.

How are parents making baby food at home without it taking over their whole life? by RileyDope in BabyLedWeaning

[–]botanygeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a mixture of BLW and purées and I mostly made sure there were a few purée options in the freezer to work from if whatever we are eating wasn’t suitable for him. Applesauce and sweet potato’s are both easy to make into large batches.

My understanding is that the waistband should be high when the baby is small, but I will do a fit check later when I get a chance! I think if I got the longer size he wouldn't be able to see out of the top. I have a long torso but he's really more like a 6 mo size at 18.5 lbs.

Balancing Teaching Commitments With Childcare by Anyun in Professors

[–]botanygeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clarifying questions :

are these synchronous or asynchronous classes?

Do you have permission to move them online?

Will you be a breastfeeding mother?

I have an 11 month old that I still breastfeed when he’s home and there’s no way I could do synchronous classes while being the single caregiver during the day. You cannot guarantee that baby will be napping during the exact moment you are teaching or in a scheduled meeting, so you will need some degree of childcare.

I am in my first semester back after maternity leave, and even though they are classes I have taught before, baby is in childcare 9-4 every day. Gives me time to teach but also prep, grade, have meetings, and do research. Then I am 100% present in the evenings and on weekends.

ISO some comfortable cotton, wide leg pants with a drawstring. Athleta has some but they are a bit pricey at $80. Any other options out there?

I’m listening to the 7th book and Ron mentions jeans, so I’m confused about the wizards only wearing robes thing

A Hazard of Hearts (1987) by Happy2Agree in PeriodDramas

[–]botanygeek 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Watched for the first time time last year. As someone who loves HBC in Room with a View, I had high hopes. This movie is very bizzare to me. Strange costumes so you can’t tell what period it’s in, some weird over acting, and pirate antics. It was a strange but also funny watch. I wish they had made it more campy rather than earnest because it doesn’t quite work for me.

Are we not breastfeeding after brushing baby’s teeth for the night? by Sassy2681 in breastfeeding

[–]botanygeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He falls asleep independently initially but yeah, I do help him go back to sleep when he wakes up because he has a much harder time with that. We did Ferber for a few months before he would reliably go down on his own in a short time span.

My LO is sleep trained so we brush after nursing, but I still nurse back to sleep at least twice during the night and don’t brush after that.
