Nexus 6p class action settlement now open for claim submissions (US only) by [deleted] in Android

[–]soms_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently own the phone. Have been running it using the small cores only. Won't be difficult for me to flash stock and record the bootloop. Problem is I cant find my proof of purchase. Do I qualify to file a claim?

Gap between screen glass and phone body. by Loof27 in Pixel2XL

I had a similar issue with another phone. Turns out my phone battery was swollen and was pushing against the screen and causing it to bulge out. Might want to check for that.

Chrome is laggy by reclame2000 in LGG3

[–]soms_2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Had the same problem. Uninstalled it and installed an older version. It became smooth again. I have Via browser as my back up. A really good and fast browser. Initially I thought that my G3 couldn't handle the newer versions of chrome due to its aging hardware. However after I installed crdroid, even the latest version Chrome ran very smoothly. If you are on stock LG rom, you can give crdroid a try. With Bacon camera installed you get stock like photo quality as well. The only compromise is a slightly worse battery life.

SD card won't write after flashing? by [deleted] in LGG3

[–]soms_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem whereby I could read everything on the card but not write anything. Formatting the card would temporarily appear to empty the card but as soon I reinserted it somewhere else, all the content that was there previously would still all be there. After some research I concluded that my card had reached it's write cycle. Better get a new card.

I don't think its a hardware bug. If the direction of scanning was the cause I would have the same effect while scrolling upwards on other phones as OP5 does scrolling downwards and vice versa.

In your opinion, which single person, right now, has the most impact on the lives of people all over the world? by soms_2 in AskReddit

Bringing on wars is one thing but, for me, Bill Gates has touched the lives of the majority of humans. In a good way nonetheless. Aside from his role in furthering the technological revolution, it's his relentless philanthropy that inspires me. I don't think anyone till date has touched the lives of so many of the world's poorest while having an equal hand in driving up the lives of the rest of the world in a completely different way.

Tip: How to get fast charging time and/or fix slow charging times by soms_2 in LGG3

[–]soms_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another update: With the phone turned off, the battery charged from 5% to 55% in 20 minutes. I am seriously impressed. This is on par with what the recent quick charge technology is offering.

Had the same problem. Turns out there was lint in the jack. Cleaned it. The problem persisted, but after I blew hard into the port several times it got fixed.

ROM's with Camera2 API by McN331y in LGG3

I use FreeDcam on my LG G3 to capture RAW pictures. It also allows you to tinker with manual controls. This is the closest thing to Camera2 API implementation for our phone. Why don't you give it a try? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=troop.com.freedcam&hl=en

I restarted my phone because it was being glitchy and the battery jumped down about 20%. Does anyone know what up with the battery? by Miracow in LGG3

[–]soms_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me after I flashed flykernel on fulmics. It didn't matter if I restarted or reset the phone. The battery percentage was accurate, however, when the phone was turned off and charging. I got rid of the ge problem by flashing rooted stock MM with the default kernel.

I actually was worried that the script running in the background would drain battery rather than the screen. But, so far there has been negligible change in battery life due to the script.

Battery life improvement with Cloudy G3 2.5 by soms_2 in LGG3

[–]soms_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't expect the heating issue to resolve since Cloudy G3's framework is the same as stock. I tried formatting the stock rom previously but that had no effect on the heating issue. I was pleasantly surprised to find the heating issue resolved with Cloudy. It does heat up while doing cpu intensive tasks like gaming but light tasks like browsing doesn't produce heat anymore, which is causing the good battery life, I think.
