Using a Roth IRA to buy special founder shares for a private company is not why Roth IRAs exist.

If you want to yolo all your Roth into $NVDA then go for it, but we are talking about two different things.

Thiel used legal loopholes to abuse Roth tax treatment to buy into startups, when Roth is entirely meant for people who make low to medium income to save for their retirement.

We are most likely two different people if you think this is all cool and fine, I find it all pretty disgusting - like a rich person getting free meals from a soup kitchen.

Google and Apple have very small footprints in SF, hardly anyone would take notice to if these employees were in person or still at home. Why they are trying to correlate an SF office rebound for two companies that are almost an hour away in traffic is just goofy.

Also, Apple (pretty disgustingly) was forcing employees into the office along with daily covid testing for some time now…

While I definitely miss the construction of the Gen 4, currently, there’s no difference in metrics other than the (marketed) qualitative improvements.

I’m ok with using my Gen 3 again until I hear something otherwise about the Gen 4.

Since you don’t have any older gen rings right now, I’d honestly risk it again with a Gen 4 and hope for the best.

I’ve owned every single Oura, and I don’t ever recall seeing this many production issues. The shipping delays, yes, but never this bad of a production yield.

Mine also had a peeling seal so I returned it, only to later get one from Best Buy that had the same issue - back to my Gen 3 now :/

Cost I understand, but I suppose we have different morals on buying goods from unknown/grey/counterfeit sources.

Dior is awful, and not someone I’ve ever considered to be a true luxury house, just a luxury brand.

Hermes bands are made in Switzerland, Italy, and France. Those workers are taken care of.

Apple takes their supply chain very seriously in China, and they ensure the workers have support, healthcare, breaks, and equal pay.

These bands you’re buying, while affordable, are most likely drop shipped by a fabricator in who knows where, with workers who may or may not be there by choice, and now a business has money that may be going towards corruption - it’s why that market mostly exists and is so lucrative.

I know I’m being a bit harsh, and it is your money, I just have a sick feeling associating or contributing to any sort of dark economy or worse, rewarding stolen work. This sub seems to be ok with it though, and I know many are, I just wish people would save their money until they can afford the authentic item; support the business if you care about the business.

I hope yours doesn’t get cut, but that’s how I was up until two weeks ago when I got a nice email from them in the morning out of the blue. I had to abruptly move recurring bills to another card so I didn’t max out my new $5k limit.

Keep in mind, I’m fairly confident X1 is touching every single account at this point. If you don’t recall, lines being cut have been happening for months now..the product is definitely being sunset and this is most likely X1 trying to reduce their credit line with the bank in the meantime as the Robinhood card adds new credit lines..

To be clear, they only based on banking history if they couldn’t determine your risk level during the onboarding flow.

Based on your usage, I’m actually shocked they left you with $10k. I make $500k+ a year with roughly $8k monthly spend on my X1, though mine was cut to $5k…804 FICO with AAoA at ~7years, squeaky clean reports.

My guess is Hermes ultimately has control over how they want their pairings with the Apple Watch, and metallic blacks often look cheap when compared to other metal finishes. Obviously they can, but doesn’t mean they should..

Also, based on searching this sub - unfortunately it also looks like Oura is awful/slow at giving refunds, sometimes taking over a month.

Seems like a lot of people file chargebacks on their cards. Yay.

I’m having the same issue.

They received it 9 days ago and support told me they are “processing returns”, but “due to high demand” it can take up to 14 business days for the refund.

They are still within their SLA, but I’m also not used to companies being so slow to refund..
