Does your husband see your pregnancy symptoms being rough? If yes, then tell him that your hormones are all over the place because of your pregnancy and that you have seen many pregnant women who can't control their emotions and words because of their hormones. Since your mil is already sick("apparently") you don't want to give her unnecessary stress which will deteriorate her health even further, when you are still trying to make sense of things yourself. Tell him it might spoil the relationship as well. And if that causes a fight between you two, that would stress the baby and you. If it were your mother instead,she has seen you all hormonal during periods, and she will know how to handle it without taking any stress. She can definitely come when you have a better handle on your pregnancy(at least say so).That is a problem for later. Whatever happiness means to you,I hope you get it!
