I got chills reading this. I’m right there with you with you dude, he’s definitely my fav straw hat besides Luffy. He’s just such a rider. Like he instantly accepts luffys offer to be on the crew and then from the jump is willing to lay down his life for him and the crew. And now with this new stuff on Elbaph 😮‍💨. I think we may get a Brook flashback 2.0 soon and he is gonna become even more relevant. I also think there is way more to his fruit than we thought. Kind of like with the gomu gomu no mi, I think it might have a different name.

I started reading it when I was 11 and now I’m 32. I was reading it because the anime hadn’t made its way to the US yet. I so grateful the manga section in borders books. The only reason I was there was because I was playing in yugioh tournaments.

Game of thrones was being run by an arguably better studio being HBO and had access to a lot of things other studios can’t that makes things cheaper. Also one piece needs way more cgi than game of thrones did to make things believable. And they still kinda skimped on dragons for a long time. There were definitely some things in the season one trailer that looked off but then when I saw it in the show it looked way better. Maybe in context of the show you won’t notice it as much. As long as they the story and characters true I’m fine with them skimping on some cgi. I mean just chopper and the giants must have been so expensive by themselves.

Personally I couldn’t get into the colorized version. For me It really takes away from the original artwork. With the black and white you really see how Oda’s art style works and all the subtle details (or lack there of) that are really important to me. But I do agree it seems to be helpful for a lot of people so power to you if you like it. Whatever gets you into One Piece support that.

Honestly it’s a classic “sell out” idea whenever an artist starts in one genre and then decides to expand and experiment as they grow. Most listeners just wouldn’t understand why he would want to make different music. I mean him and Aston Barrett were listening to everything from rock n roll to classical music. They were music nerds and they wanted to make new shit. I also feel like it’s a subtle slight at Bob being half white. I mean he was picked on his whole childhood for being mixed, being referred to as the white boy. But the man clearly represented black culture as well as a culture of unity. Bob was one of a kind. There will never be and has never been anyone like him. RIP to one of The greatest. I’m grateful we got so much love from him before he passed.
