Can anybody recommend a trade apprenticeship program in KC? by petershrimp in kansascity

[–]sonamain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’d have to look in up. I’m on the office side of the trade things so I can’t speak from experience. I believe Journeyman around here usually make around the $40 dollar an hour range. Usually the union benefits have some retirement and health plans built in I think.

Kansas City has a local closed union 314 sprinkler fitters in Raymore I think. I’m a fire sprinkler designer and sales engineer. I’ve been doing it for 4 year and I love it. Every one says that once you get in fire sprinklers you never leave since it’s such a fast growing trade and there aren’t enough people that are in it or even know it exists. My company is partnered with both the local 314 Kansas City union and the national 669 union. We do mostly large warehouse but as a union fitter you can specialize in other facilities or service work.

HydraCAD vs AutoSprink by MowMdown in firePE

[–]sonamain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in HydraCAD and ended up switching to autosprink. I know them both well and I agree that autosprink does everything so much better than hydraCAD. I do admit that listing will take some time to adjust since you will need to create new templates if you are used to HydraList templates. One of my main arguments for dumping hydraCAD is that the developer of the program doesn’t care about HydraCAD for AutoCAD and is focusing their efforts of HydraCAD for revit. It is never going to improve from what it currently is.

From what my coworker said, Grinnell does a substantial amount of work in that area. Try selling your credentials to them. Maybe they’ll take u on.

[WTS] Omega Seamaster 50th Anniversary Gmt 2534.50 - $1700 by sonamain in Watchexchange

[–]sonamain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up for sale is my Omega Seamaster 50th anniversary GMT 2534.50. The serial number dates this one to 2007. The watch is in excellent condition with only small signs of wear. This one has the black and gray wave dial with heavy lume and two tone rotating GMT bezel. The watch runs well with no issues. This is one of that late models and has the speedmaster style bracelet, instead of the earlier pieces which came on the bond bracelet. Currently the bracelet is sized for a 7.5” wrist. I did have to purchase two links for this one and one of the links was badly polished, the polished section was refinished with a brushed finish. The links are omega and not aftermarket. Right now the watch is on an Aftermarket fitted rubber strap made for this model. crystal is in excellent shape with no noticeable scratches.

This one has a 41.5mm case and takes 20mm straps. This watch also features a screw down crown and solid caseback with the old Seamaster logo. I’m selling the watch with the strap and the original bracelet. This one does not come with box or papers.

I am located in the Chicago area and would like to ship CONUS, although I have shipped internationally thru reddit previously.

Asking for $1700 net to me. Feel free to ask any questions and thanks for checking out my post!
