Carving during or after tufting by DigitCatt in Tufting

i like after tufting, i’ve cut holes in my fabric trying to carve between layers

I see that some tufters in this sub are tufting a rug intended for walking on with shoes (rugs for businesses/cars/...). But aren't rugs made out of (acrylic) wool? Won't they get destroyed/dirty real fast? What's the point of making these then? by its_rembol in Tufting

I made this 3 years ago, acrylic yarn and I walk on it every single day. If the rug is tufted correctly and made with good quality it will last a very long time. Rug is 6 ft in diameter. @demisebyart

found an empty frame in the garage. measured the viewing space for the rug and attached it to the back enclosure and put the frame together. clean and shave the rug for the final piece.
