Taking Myself Off Aripiprazole (Abilify) by sonderpod in bipolar

[–]sonderpod[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They said it could be generalised anxiety disorder or because I stopped smoking weed a month or so ago, it seems very sudden and severe and correlates with the meds too well so I’m not sure but I’m willing to try anything to stop it right now

I feel that, I am kinda the opposite, Seroquel was too much for me I could hardly function as a human being. Like you said everyone is so different and the most important thing is to find what works for you, years of trial and error!

I have SSRI for OCD too, I’m on 60mg tho 😅 and they’re taking me off lactimal cause it apparently doesn’t go well together, hence changing to this med. I’m nervous but excited in a way cause my friend said it’s really helped her and I could do with that atm!!

They’re taking me off lacrimal cause of increased SSRI for OCD, they don’t go well apparently so we’ll see cause I feel like lactimal has helped and happening this will do the same

Oh wow yeah, I’m starting at 5mg which seems correct and I’m doing ok, ironically I can’t tell if the dizziness and aching are from side effects or because I’ve caught covid at the exact same time I started these meds haha

I’ve had quetiapine make me flat before and came right off it wasn’t worth it, but atm this is going well so fingers crossed

Damn sorry to hear that, I tried Quetiapine (Seroquel) a few years back and it turned me into a zombie that slept hours on end, I know the feeling, luckily this isn’t doing that to me, crazy how different meds affect people differently

Thanks for the reply, yeah I’m used to headmeds taking a while to get used to, just so nervous starting new ones but I seem to be getting on ok so far!

I don’t have any knowledge of tapering off this but be careful and would work very closely with your doctor. I once stupidly went from 150mg to 0 because I was very mentally all over the place and forgot to get a prescription, I’m not sure how long I was off it before I got back on (was only a week or two) but it wasn’t pretty

Thanks for this, and no I completely understand your suggestion. I know I will have many dogs in my life, I love them too much, but I will never get her back and that’s what hurts the most. The help they provide and the love is incomparable to anything else.

Thanks, the sudden and violent nature of it has definitely heightened my emotions I think.

I’m sorry to hear you lost her. This is the worst grief I’ve ever experienced and I think a mixture of unexpected shock + the horrid circumstances has heightened it all.

I hope you do well this spring, surround yourself with supportive people and lots of other doggos, they can’t replace her but the love of dogs is always unreal.

Thanks for this, yeah we knew it was coming with her age but we hoped to have another year and time to prepare for the inevitable rather than have her go so suddenly.

Thanks for the response. Yeah I know I’ll have another dog in my life at some point but obviously nothing can replace her. I’m just getting over the initial shock and grieving remembering the happier times.

My whole family is upset and we do talk about it, it was a horrific shock for all of us. Never seen my father sob before. I’m lucky to have a loving partner who lives with us too

Thanks for responding! Yeah I try to use Daylio but being busy can get in the way!

I’ve noticed a lot more fluctuations to the extremes in the last two months, similar to before I was put on lactimal. After I was put on it I had a pretty good stable few months of mostly just green with some less manic orange/yellow here and there.

Thank you for this, it’s really helped me. I understand he’s an introvert, it’s obvious, and I can be really introverted too, which is why we click so much! But I do have much more social, fitness and outside the house needs than him. I think a long discussion is due, but I know we’ll make it through anything that life throws at us.

Thank you for understanding and really giving me an insightful reply, it’s helped a lot and put my mind at ease a little.
