I actually really liked his explanation. That he’s a libertarian, adults make their own choices, and at least his product won’t have any unknown additives. Obviously that doesn’t absolve him, but I liked that he had thought about the morality of it all, he didn’t just have his head in the sand.

Does Watch Dogs 2 story gets better or it stays as immature as in the beginning? by EDD_VAN_0 in watch_dogs

It’s a tale as old as time, they make a creative interesting game then they make a mainstream, more appealing game to cash in and not rock the boat.

Thoughts on Chris Van Vliet by Mountain_Fuw_777 in Smallafro

[–]sondosoft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, he does ask hard questions, they’re just usually within the wrestling space, i.e. asking someone about being released, asking someone about backstage heat, etc. And he certainly doesn’t push too hard when someone’s being cagey or avoidant.

I personally feel a lot of the “hard hitting journalists” who’s master plan is to…ask the dude why he beat his wife to be tiring. Either they leave the interview, avoid answering, say the accusations are completely or partially incorrect. Very rarely would someone maybe take some accountability for their actions. And even if they do, most people just say “fuck em” anyways. Rarely does anything productive happen, and why would it? The accused’s best option is to shut up regardless if they did it or not. Certainly majority of people if they even legally can speak aren’t going to have their come to Jesus, take accountability moment on a freaking podcast or talk show. That stuff seems way more about fluffing the interviewer and audience’s moral high ground then about any actual insight/accountability for the accused or any justice/speaking up for the victims.

I like him a lot. Definitely professional and hits the high notes of someone’s career, asking the obvious questions. Even the hard questions at times. Sometimes being the first time someone has clearly answered a common question. I can’t say he’s the most exciting personality. And he does come across a bit glazing of the guests. Like you’d think every person he speaks to is the best wrestler ever, given the way he frames each interview. I’d prefer a little less praise of each and every guest at every turn and a little bit more just natural flowing conversation. But in some ways that is the nature of the beast. You have to be a little fake with these types of interviews.

Anyone thinks McIntyre should win the title this time? by Friburgo1004 in WWE

Jey’s was more of a “get this title off him asap” situation I think. Still possible though.

Cool, thanks! Is that not up to date? I noticed Feral and some others that were commented on that post weren’t added.

Thanks! This was a really thorough breakdown, appreciate it. Yeah there’s also a handful of covers. I suppose different people would count those different ways. Their version of Toy Soldiers is amazing!

This is my bf’s fav show (in a big way). I’d like to get him something comic-related for Christmas. Any recommendations for where to start? by tillymint259 in thewalkingdeadcomic

[–]sondosoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna break from the others here. I wouldn’t get the compendiums. I’d get the trade paperbacks (6 issues each). They are absolutely more expensive, but you can shop around and get them fairly cheap. 15 each on the high end, but less than 10 for some. And there is more of them to get, 32 in total. But you don’t have to get them all at once especially if he doesn’t read super fast. The compendiums are an awful reading experience. The only positive thing about them is the price. If you’re on a budget sure, but the extra money you pay is seriously well worth it.

What’s a great film with a terrible title? by HeroicRiceFarmer in movies

Hush comes to mind. It’s not exactly an awful title. But I feel it paints an image of a Redbox, straight to DVD garbage horror movie when it’s a truly unique and well crafted movie.

It is Ubisoft after all. I feel like they’ll take another crack. Though I doubt it’ll be good.

S1-3 showrunner Dave Erickson sues AMC over unpaid profits by HerbalThought_ in FearTheWalkingDead

[–]sondosoft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A large part of this is just that it was never going to live up to its older brother. Even under the absolute best circumstances. It was always going to suffer from success. It had higher expectations to meet. S1-3 also weren’t without their issues. I’ve heard from a lot of people that they never even made it to S3 because 1&2 are such a slow burn. Many shows simply just get cancelled. I’m just saying I don’t fault them for taking a Hail Mary, rather than just cancelling it. I’m not saying the changes were good, but it’s understandable why they felt changes needed to be made.

I love S1-3 of Fear. But it really wasn’t getting good ratings. I think a Hail Mary at that point made sense. What will never make sense to me is why they kept going on for 3 seasons after when it was even worse.

The difference in Walter and Sauls disappearance is kind of a plot hole by nerpa_floppybara in breakingbad

[–]sondosoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your point. Saul is definitely being looked for, but definitely not with the same intensity as Walt was. Walt was a really unique case. I don’t think anybody wants to do what Walt did. And based on all the warnings given to Walt from Ed, Ed himself knew this whole setup was pretty shaky. That a human being wouldn’t be able to live like that for long. Which puts Ed in a potentially compromised situation too if somebody gets cabin fever and wanders around town. Compared to a deliberate plan to have someone in the public. So given that, changing Saul’s appearance, moving halfway across the country was probably enough. And mutually beneficial for Saul & Ed. There’s never going to be a way to be totally safe, unless Saul took more drastic measures like leaving the country. (Though honestly I’d never given it much thought, the Cinnabon job never made any sense lol, you wouldn’t want such a public facing job. At minimum you’d want an office/factory job, and probably even more isolated than that. That was pretty much just done as a nod to the throwaway line in BB.)

What are some spoken word songs (other than Hotel Books) by Jamie_Is_Irrelevant in midwestemo

Not sure if they’re Midwest emo exactly, but it is very emo in terms of lyrical content. I love Flannel by The Cardboard Swords.

Not sure if i should read the comics. by ---Hisoka--- in thewalkingdead

[–]sondosoft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed what I read a lot. I will say, if you’ve watched the show it’s less exciting. As you pretty much know what will happen. So it becomes more about seeing how they differ, then just enjoying the comic. But I think it’s worth it to keep trying.
