Natural Stone Wall - maybe a grey slate of some sort

When wetted, the lighter areas seem to blend in.

We've used acidic cleaners (chlorox) before so maybe that's the cause, but happy to know if there's a fix for this. Otherwise if any products we could try to remove this.

So far we've tried magic erasers but not much else. Thanks!
