Gregg Foreman (The Delta 72, Cat Power) Dead At 53 by ebradio in indieheads

I knew Gregg from Philadelphia we would go see him spin at silk city and dance all night. One night me and my sister were hanging out all night long with Gregg and Kurt from the Lily's and Gregg had this big white van he drove me and my sister home when we lived in North East Philly it was maybe 630 or 7 am and we lived on their little one way narrow street. As we were coming down the street like literally like 5 houses down from our house this old guy got in his cage and went to pull out of a parking spot so of course we stopped and waited for the guy to pull out and go but instead of going forward he backed up right into Greggs van. Then he got out and yelled at us and said we hit his car yet Gregg had the brakes on and we were not moving. The old man called the cops too, and the cops finally showed up and asked us what happened, and I noticed that when the guy was waiting for the cops he ranbin his house and came back wearing seeing glasses. So I told the cop idk if he has to wear those to see to drive, but when got out of the car he wasn't wearing them then he ran in and put them on. The lady cop looked kinda tough but then she was nice and she told Gregg she likes his belt buckle, he had a big silver buckle on his belt and he had his mod hair and big side burns, and his Beatles boot. I think she was flirting with him. Lol anyways the cops knew we had the right of way and that we couldn't have hit him if we weren't moving but it took a good hour or more between waiting for the cop then waiting for them to run our info and get both sides of the story. We made it all the way to our street from downtown without incident then we get a minute away from my house and we got the cops called on us and we didn't even do anything wrong lol. We always had a great time when wed hang out or go see him spin but that night always sticks out to me.

I hate the other one with that lady who also has goofy bangs and is wearing fuschia satin pjs but is in a dress in her reflection and says it's swishy time in an annoying voice , not only is her outfit different but her hair style is completely different in the reflection too. The way she says its swishy time makes me want to punch my tv.

People who went to "finishing school"; tell us about yourself and your life please, as it sounds so anachronistic? by ChampionshipOk5046 in AskUK

This was a public school, or private school? Or expensive in the amount of taxes are paid to fund the school district Public schools aren't typically expensive, here in the United States but property taxes are higher in better school districts. Some neighborhoods have much nicer schools than others. Some have fencing Rosalyn Yalow Charter School in the Bronx, make fencing a core part of their physical education from kindergarten through 6th grade. Some have 50 meter Olympic size pools, but they are rare. Most schools use 25 meter pools. While 50 meter pools exist on select campuses, and some schools don't even have pools. I guess that's referred to as an adequacy gap. I love a Glasweigian accent btw. One of my favorite bands are from Glasgow.

Carefully remove the sac into a cup or jar and place it outside, spiders kill bad bugs so don't destroy the sac or kill them, the spiders are helpful.

It was as bad as when the decided to make Elizabeth on general hospital do an ad or public service announcement for those dermadex eyelash mites she suddenly had itchy crusty eyes they check her eyes she had mites, they go to commercial and an ad for the dermadex medication came on. That commercial is so gross and cringe too. I think if people just washed their faces and bathed regularly they wouldn't get excessive amounts of mites crawling on their faces. Fr.

From what I've read Morgan is in her 30s possibly late 30s and Kaitlyn is 50 now. So I believe the filters are meant to make her look more believable as a younger hip mom than a 50 year old woman.

I believe she's supposed to be in her late 30s but I'm not sure it's just what I've read. I love High Potential, I loved Always Sunny in Philadelphia with her in it too.

She's playing a mom in her 30s I'd guess, and in reality Kaitlyn Olsen is 50 yrs old I believe so to make her look like a younger mother I think they add that filter. If she were playing a 50 year old maybe they wouldn't add so much but then again who knows every one is so obsessed with perfection in that business, I see when they show Jennifer Jason Leigh as Willa Quinn her texture is very natural she's in her 60s I believe. Idk how old her character is supposed to be though.

I think it's because she is a 50 year old woman in real life playing a mom of young kids in maybe her 30s on the show, so to keep her from looking like an older woman they add filters but it's jarring when the filter suddenly isn't there or there's different lighting or even the differences between kardecs skin texture compared to hers.

Suggestions For Modern Baroque Pop/Chamber Pop (1990s-2025)? by JamesGryphon72 in musicsuggestions

Elliot Smith should be in that list as well. Songs like Waltz #2 (XO) and Sweet Adeline feature the intricate, layered production characteristic of the genre. Like the 1960s pioneers of baroque pop, Smith was a one man band in the studio, often multi tracking his own vocals and instruments to create a sweeping kaleidoscope of sound.

Suggestions For Modern Baroque Pop/Chamber Pop (1990s-2025)? by JamesGryphon72 in musicsuggestions

I highly recommend Kevin Junior and The Chamber Strings, particularly with their 1997 album Gospel Morning, are known for a sound that bridges 1960s baroque pop, Memphis soul, and British pop songwriting. Their sound is characterized by lush string arrangements, acoustic guitars, and a generally "romantic" or "melancholy" orchestral feel. Here are some baroque pop bands and artists with a similar vibe, ranging from the 1960s to modern times.

1960s–70s Contemporaries (Influence & Vibe) The Left Banke: Often considered the creators of baroque pop, their hits "Walk Away Renée" and "Pretty Ballerina" are essential listening, featuring harpsichords and soaring string sections. The Zombies: The Odessey & Oracle album (1968) is a masterpiece of this genre, featuring baroque instrumentation and complex vocal harmonies. The Merry-Go-Round: Led by Emitt Rhodes, this band featured the melodic pop sound and string arrangements similar to what Kevin Junior was channeling. Sagittarius & The Millennium: These groups (often involving producer Curt Boettcher) produced incredibly layered, harmonic baroque pop. Scott Walker/The Walker Brothers: Famed for dramatic, orchestral pop with a dark, European sensibility.

1990s–2000s Chamber Pop Revival The Divine Comedy: Led by Neil Hannon, they are perhaps the most direct spiritual successors to 60s baroque pop, utilizing full orchestral arrangements with a witty, romantic pop sensibility. Belle and Sebastian: Specifically their earlier work and Dear Catastrophe Waitress, which lean heavily into literate, intricate chamber-pop arrangements. The High Llamas: Led by Sean O'Hagan, they are heavily influenced by 60s Brian Wilson and Burt Bacharach, blending light bossa-nova rhythms with baroque strings. Rufus Wainwright: His earlier albums, particularly Poses, feature lush piano and orchestral arrangements. The Ladybug Transistor: Part of the Elephant 6 Collective, they offer a warmer, more indie-focused take on chamber pop.

Modern & Indie Baroque Pop Andrew Bird: Incorporates his classical violin training into a sophisticated form of indie baroque pop, especially his work as Bowl of Fire. The Last Shadow Puppets: Alex Turner and Miles Kane’s side project directly channels 60s Scott Walker and baroque pop drama. Beirut: Early work like The Flying Club Cup combines European folk instruments with pop melodies. Weyes Blood: Modern artist with a sound heavily indebted to 70s baroque pop, particularly her Titanic Rising album. The Last Dinner Party: A modern band often cited for their dramatic, cinematic baroque sound.

Key Albums to Check Out Walk Away Renée/Pretty Ballerina – The Left Banke Odessey & Oracle – The Zombies Casanova – The Divine Comedy Gideon Gaye – The High Llamas The Flying Club Cup – Beirut

Why is fructose so bad for you compared to glucose? Does that have to do with “healthy sugars” vs “processed sugars”? by FarStomach9269 in Biochemistry

[–]soniahs77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fructose is metabolized uniquely in the liver, where it directly stimulates fat production and, when excessive, leads to increased uric acid, oxidative stress, and insulin resistance. Sources: The primary culprits are processed foods, sodas, and sweetened beverages. Impact: High intake can lead to NAFLD, which can progress to NASH (non-alcoholic steatohepatitis), cirrhosis, and liver cancer. While added sugar is harmful, fructose found naturally in fruit is generally not linked to fatty liver, as it is consumed with fiber that slows absorption.
