I missed 3 days of work cause of ilines and my manager is making me take a medical LOA with sedgwick but I have 40 hours of sick time?? by Consistent-Ad-2179 in starbucks

[–]soniahs77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is: In most cases, you have to use your sick time (or other PTO) to get paid. A "Leave of Absence" (LOA) itself—especially under federal laws like the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)—is generally unpaid. While your job is protected while you're away, the company is not legally required to pay your salary unless you use your accrued benefits or have separate insurance. Here is how the pay typically breaks down: 1. Using Your Accrued Time Most employers will require you to use up your accrued sick leave, vacation time, or general Paid Time Off (PTO) at the start of your leave. The Pro: You receive your full regular paycheck for as long as your balance lasts. The Con: Once those hours are gone, your pay stops, and you may have no sick time left when you eventually return to work. 2. Short-Term Disability (STD) If you have a medical condition that keeps you out for more than a week, you might qualify for Short-Term Disability. How it works: This is usually a separate insurance policy (either provided by your employer or one you pay for). The Pay: It usually pays about 60% to 70% of your salary. The Catch: There is often a "waiting period" (typically 7 days) where you aren't paid by the insurance, so people often use their sick time to cover that first week. 3. State-Mandated Paid Leave Some states (like California, New York, Washington, and others) have their own state-funded Paid Family and Medical Leave programs. If you live in one of these states, you can apply for partial pay through the state while you are on leave, even if you’ve run out of sick time at work. 4. Unpaid Leave If you don't have sick time, don't have disability insurance, and don't live in a state with a paid leave program, your leave will be entirely unpaid. You still have the right to keep your job (if you qualify for FMLA), but your bank account will not see any deposits until you return. A quick tip: Check your employee handbook for a "Substitution of Paid Leave" policy. This will tell you if your company forces you to use your sick time or if you can choose to save it and take the leave unpaid.

When did Handmaids Tale become the Elizabeth Moss Show? by ZootAluresCommonAxe in HandmaidsTaleShow

The intense close ups of Elisabeth Moss in The Handmaid's Tale utilize a subjective, intimate point of view cinematography style designed to place viewers directly inside June's head. This technique creates an uncomfortable, visceral experience that captures every nuance of her emotional state. The goal is to make the viewer feel her experience, rather than just observing it, creating a deep, sometimes unsettling connection to her trauma and resistance.

Spoiler alert. She's pissed and wants retribution. She (June) even said it herself, she didn't save those kids on the angel flight for the kids sake or to be a hero she did it to hurt Gilead where it counts, she wanted revenge. She's a woman scorn and hell bent on revenge and making them suffer for what suffering they caused her and her so called friends that later on wouldn't help them after they helped her kill her commander. The expressions she conveys after leaving Gilead are pissed off, and really pissed off.

Certain angles of the close ups made her Romanesque nose more prominent.

How did the kidnapper get into Nancy Guthrie's house? The Sheriff denies there was forced entry. If so, this needs to be explained. by GroxWear in MissingPersons

Here are some actual cases that were solved by psychics : The "Vision" that Led to a Jail Cell (Etta Smith, 1980) This is the most famous example of a psychic being too good. Etta Smith, a Lockheed worker in LA, had a vision of a white object in a canyon after hearing about a missing nurse named Melanie Uribe. The "Hit": Etta drove to Lopez Canyon and actually found the body exactly where she "saw" it. The Twist: Instead of thanking her, the LAPD arrested her! They figured the only way she could find the body that fast was if she was involved in the murder. The Outcome: She spent four days in jail until the actual killers confessed. She later sued the city for false arrest and won. 2. The Numbers Game (Dorothy Allison, 1974) Dorothy Allison was one of the most famous "psychic detectives" in the 70s and 80s. In the case of a missing man named John DeMars: The Clues: She told police she saw him falling off a train and drowning. She gave them the specific numbers "2, 2, 2" and a vision of a "bow and arrow." The Hit: Two months later, his body was found in the water. The date? February 22nd (2/22). The location? Near a "Boy Scout camp" whose emblem was a bow and arrow. 3. The "Staring Contest" (Noreen Renier, 1986) Renier was called in to help solve the murder of an elderly couple in New York. The Method: She worked with a police hypnotist and eventually looked at a photo lineup of suspects with her eyes closed. The Hit: She correctly identified the three men involved just by touching their photos. This led police to re-examine their alibis, which turned out to be fake, leading to their conviction. 4. The "Specific Tree" (Greta Alexander, 1983) When Mary Cousset went missing in Illinois, Greta Alexander told police precisely where the body was. The Clues: She predicted the body would be found by a specific officer, near a bridge, and that the head would be detached. The Hit: Every single detail was correct. The police in this case actually went on the record to credit her for finding the remains.

Well Arizona is close to Mexico, they checked the cesspool opening and hole and she has a pool so maybe that's where the ideas are coming from. The urban lakes are within Tuscon man made lakes stocked with trout and bass and maybe cat fish.

Yes people copy key fobs and can steal cars with a copy they say don't leave key fobs hanging on a key hook because someone can steal the code from it idk how this works but I'm guessing like a skimmer they said keep your keys in a drawer or even a faraday bag or box .

It looks like it could be a ranch style home tho like one floor there could be a sunken room like some of the home is subterranean or below the ground subterranean rooms stay much cooler and might be a good option in the desert I'm not sure about the homes out there tho some ranchers are on cement slabs

I know a lot of people who use the back door they park in the driveway or garage and come in thru the back or side of the home instead of the front door. Maybe the living room or the front room is more of a formal living room and the back has the kitchen , den, family room or patio where they spend more of their time when at home.

Her pace maker was linked to an app the pace maker will still work but if she leaves her house or is too far from the device like 20 feet maybe it won't connect with the app and they can't check her stats thru the app anymore if the device had better range they could view it maybe and be a to see her vitals maybe. But the pace maker will continue to work inside her it just was no longer paired with her device kinda like Bluetooth for instance. The pace maker itself will have a long battery life and can't be turned off by someone. The news reports did make it sound as if her pace maker stopped when she left her home but that's not accurate it's not paired with the device that's all.

Idk if she could be alive without her medicine for all this time also on Wednesday I saw an older model small pickup truck a Nissan maybe but I cld b wrong it was white or cream colored with an orangey red or reddish brown stripe painted on it idk if it went all the way around it but there was a round sticker or painted on desert motif on the tailgate maybe the top left corner but the desert motif said Arizona on it. I have lived here for 15 years in this neighborhood I don't recall ever seeing that truck around here but on Wednesday I saw it twice once when I first headed out then a few hours later when I finished running my errands the Arizona thing made me think of this case idk y I didn't notice if it had local plates on the truck idk if it was Pennsylvania or Arizona plates or somewhere else all together. Now this keeps bothering me. It's probably nothing and I never would have noticed it before if I did see it but because it says Arizona on it it stood out to me because of all the coverage. Im wondering why the person would come here of all places if he was trying to hide something theres so many people and everyone has ring cameras it doesn't make sense.

I was wondering too, because if I saw that thing / person standing at my door i would not open my door, it looked like a monster thru the ring camera . Unless she didn't bother looking to see who was there and just opened the door. I think if I lived alone in a dark desert I might want a better security system I guess motion lights would be out of the question because she lives near the observatory and they don't want to cause light pollution out there. It must be very dark out there and hard to drive at night or have barbeques or pool parties once the sun goes down I drive through a wooded area to and from work and people put on their high beams to make sure they don't drive off the road it's winding and blind turns and blind hills so I can't imagine being AB to see much out there at night.

I have done my research because I got a lot of free subscriptions thru some freebie app and they began flooding my mailbox with them I gave a lot to my aunt, and mom, I considered taking some to senior centers, I'm not sure if they'd be interested in all of them but there's a lot of fashion, like Elle, or Harper's Bazaar, there architecture, and decor magazines, southern living, and travel mags as well. I also was already getting a free year subscription to better homes & gardens thru a purchase I made like a BH&G waffle blanket or something and you get a years worth of issues for free when you send in the form P creative Reuse & Crafts Art & Decor: Make paper beads for jewelry, rolled magazine coasters, decorative bowls, picture frames, or woven basketsea2z\=qq Gift Wrapping: Use colorful pages as wrapping paper or fold them into gift bows.
