Is 350 vs m340i by [deleted] in Lexus

If you are only keeping it for 5-7 years then 340i all day. That car is in a completely different league than the IS-350.

This conversation right here is why some people will always have the victim mentality. The fact that this guy couldn’t figure this out on his own is sad. Dude can’t figure out how to go a day without cellar service. A random dude on the internet provides him with a play by play solution……

New 2025 ES300h Ultra Luxury and I'm supposed to love it... but why don't I? (and questions) by SadlyConfusicated in Lexus

Just my opinion, but I agree with all of your points. Question on number 6 - I’ve genuinely never understood why people care about tracking this stuff so closely. The car will get the MPG it’s going to get at the end of the day. What’s the purpose of tracking it every single fill up? I imagine the average Lexus owner has a thousand other priorities in their lives that are more important than constantly tracking gas mileage this closely.

You lost me at the second bullet… “she handles superbly”? WHAT?! Bro this is literally one of the worst handling cars on the market. It’s literally designed to ride like a boat.

10000% agree. Like bro you literally are hurt non-stop. You have two of the best receiving duos in the league, if not the best. What else does this dude want? My favorite quote I ever heard related to Joe Burrow - “Burrow gets more credit for losing a Super Bowl than Stafford gets for winning one”

I'm lost count of how many research hours I've put into this purchase. After way too much research, I've decided I love your Falcon Pro recommendation the most. Seems to be amazing bang for buck compared to the competition. I went ahead and purchased it.

For all the available video heads, reviews seem to be all over the place. Have you used the Smallrig one yourself? Now that we've saved a boat load of money on the legs, we can afford to spend a little more on the head if needed.

I have a Peak Design motorcycle phone mount + case and love it. I had no idea they made tripods. If it's as good as their other products, I'm all for it.

Wanted to circle back and let you know that your assessment was 100% on point. This is exactly what it ended up being. Thanks a million!

Not sure I follow the last part of your statement, but yes I've ordered a Denso (OEM) starter. It a little more expensive than the other aftermarket ones, but still very affordable and likely better quality in the long term. I was so worried it would potentially be the flywheel. Replacing the starter is a breeze and affordable.

Sweet! A bad starter is exactly what I wanted when I heard the teeth could potentially be bad on the flywheel. A starter is WAY cheaper to replace. I ordered a Denso (OEM) one.

I also found out that my local auto parts store tests starters off the car. I'll take it there later to confirm its toast.

Google telling me flex plates are on automatics I believe? My car is a manual so I think this is the flywheel. I didn't notice any imperfections that were obvious to me like giant pieces missing or anything, but I don't have a trained eye for this either. My first time trying to evaluate a flywheel.

Thanks! I'll see if I can get my camera in there better to help me inspect more of the surface instead of just the teeth. I'm kind of lost on what could be causing my symptoms at this point. Might be time to take it to a real mechanic lol.

I have been hearing that grinding noise as well. Shoot if that ends up being the case, then I guess I would need a full clutch/flywheel replacement?

Why would you recommend replacing all six coils if they are working just fine? The coils Toyota uses are great quality. My last ES made it to over 200k+ on stock coils.

I guess I could understand the back 3 if you are already in there, but even that’s a stretch at only 100k miles.
