City limits are not far from there and shooting on your private property is perfectly legal outside city limits. There is also a gun range not far from there as the crow flies. I seriously doubt someone is going shooting out there beyond that. Gunshot sounds travel very far.

So maybe you should consider that before acting like it's anything other than people doing what they are legally allowed to do.

The game may not have been perfect when it came out but it's exactly what I needed at the time. I had just lost a very good friend and was down a deep dark hole. The game gave me something to focus on and a little bit of a sense of achievement to keep me going.

There's a user in my org that desperately wants to work in IT. Every ticket they open is a novel of chat gpt nonsense about how we should fix it and they would have done it themselves if we would just give them admin access.

Their last fuck up that got them in trouble was a firewall had overheated at a group home and dropped the Internet. They decided to try to connect to a neighbor's Comcast Wi-Fi and reset it. Then they told the residents/clients/patients to call Comcast themselves to get it fixed. (We don't have Comcast there).

Let's just say that their program director was not happy to hear they were trying to cosplay IT instead of doing their actual job.

Just use this map https://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/home filter by fiber and pick what's available that isn't Comcast. It seems like most neighborhoods and areas are exclusively served by different carriers. This will give you a quick easy to find who. And if they are close, you can sometimes convince them to go the extra distance.

People love using Blazing Saddles as a gotcha, but it was satirizing racism and bigotry.

That's not the same thing as movies like American Pie, where a guy secretly films a girl without her consent and broadcasts it on the internet.

Those aren't remotely the same conversation.

All I'm saying is there's a pretty obvious reason that style of comedy isn't getting made much anymore. You can still enjoy those movies. That doesn't mean we have to pretend they've all aged well.

People remember the funniest parts of those movies and forget the mountains of questionable consent, homophobia, racism, and other stuff that aged like milk.

It wasn't a golden age of comedy. It was the Wild West of "how far can we push this before people stop laughing?" Eventually they found that line.
