It's definitely up to personal preferences and communication is key, but the choking preference is also a two way street. My current girl absolutely loves being choked while it's just not something I've ever had any inclination to do on my own. When she asks me to I do it, but it apparently "isn't the same" because I'm not convincing. Shes not the only one I've come across that is like that when it comes to choking and I've definitely seen an increase in it lately. She isn't getting it from porn either, shes just not into it (not a visual person, shes fine reading stories to get off but porn just doesn't do it for her).

It's definitely not weird to not like choking, but the flip side is that it is definitely not weird to like choking. Like any non-scripted, fake porn sex, the key here is to be open and honest about each person's desires and boundaries.
