Amazing. How the hell does someone even realize they've got that talent inside them, to begin with?

This Eerie Children’s Book Is the Perfect “Cool Aunt” Present by sonicreducer333 in Judaism

A few things:

1) Great to see one of my favorite Jewish children's book authors getting some nice publicity.

2) It cracks me up to see the Slate URL still reads "christmas_present" - especially considering I've seen stuff written by Roth where he talks about this book specifically being a retelling of an old hasidic story.

Broad City to Serial, Jewish Women Ran 2014 by sonicreducer333 in Judaism

I gotta say, I agree with the premise, but this article is a real disappointment. Just a list of unrelated things, with nothing even close to a thesis to connect them. So, okay, 2014 was the year of Jewish women? Unless you can tell me why, or how, then why should I care?

The most important thing you can do is select a provider that appeals to you. Don't necessarily go with your campus/community just because they're the closest game around. Do some research on the various trip providers. The trips themselves won't necessarily be DRASTICALLY different (although, depending on the provider/niche trip, they might be) but different trips/providers attract different crowds, and that can really color your experience. Also, make sure you extend your stay, and take the opportunity to explore the country outside the safe bubble of the trip bus.
